The world is not gonna end.
It might as well, with what's happening around me.
"Akane!", I was pulled out of my own world when my uncle called out. I just finished signing papers in a highschool nearby and was now walking back home.
"Yes?" My walk slowed down as he caught up. His jogging pants were dusty as though he's been running for a good length.
"I kept calling you but you did not hear me." He said in between gulps of air, "I was gonna ask you, if you could watch over the store for a little while. I'm going to be a bit late in school."
"Why would I cover for you?"
He sucked in his breath, glaring at me then softening in defeat, "Please?"
I chuckled, "Alright, alright. Be back as soon as you can."
With that, I waved him goodbye. He looked at me curiously. I rolled my eyes but smiled warmly after.
"It's fine, uncle. It's about time I start getting acquainted with society again since I'll be joining classes next week."
He sighed and rubbed his nape, "That's a relief to hear from you, Akane. It's probably going to take over the most significant event of my day today."
I tilted my head to the side, "Take over? Something else happened already?"
His aura changed, like that of a proud father seeing his child walk. His eyes glinted against the setting sun and his chest puffed with pride.
"I may have found a nest of crows."
