"Akane-chan!" A bubbly girl greeted Akane at the corridor. She was hugging a folder full of papers. She's a part of the committee for the 1st years and she's been showing the newcomer, Akane, the ropes.
"Here are the plans the committee have agreed. You might want to read up on it. If you have other ideas, you can tell me! Okay? Okay!" The girl babbled with enthusiasm.
"Y-yes, sure..." Akane hesitantly accepted the folder, "Uh, Yachi-san?"
"Yes?"
Ever since Akane's arrival in the almost-middle of the school year, she has not joined any clubs officially. Instead, she tags along her uncle with the volleyball team and occasionally around Yachi during the committee meetings. Her sporty and creative personality clash most of the times and she has always been an indecisive person, so she switches around her interests.
Akane looked to the ground, then looked back up at her, "Do you want to study with me?"
Yachi tilted her head as she admired the adorable blush on Akane's cheeks, "Of course! The library, then?"
The final exams were coming up and everyone is starting to feel the strain from reaching out for the summer break. It would be better for everyone's sanity to study in advance to avoid excessive cramming.
But then, of course, not everyone will come to think of following that advice.

"HEY! You cannot escape that as students!" Daichi's voice boomed across the gym as his team fell apart at this news. Takeda was even on the ground, hugging himself, whispering: 'They can do this. They can do this. They can do this.'
Akane arrived at the gym with Yachi. Both of them came from the library and studied until it closed. Kiyoko was the first one to notice the newcomers and a lightbulb immediately flickered in her head.
"Akane-san, good afternoon!" She greeted a bit louder and smiled at the younger student. Upon noticing, the team stopped their chaotic catharsis.
"AKANE-SAN!!!" They cried out simultaneously. Akane was caught off-guard and Yachi jumped behind her, tightly holding on to her blouse.
Akane held her hands out as if pushing their helpless souls out of her personal space, "What's going on?"
Keishin replied curtly with a poker face, "Exams. Next month."
"Oh, yes. In fact I have started studying today to avoid cramming it all up." Akane replied with an innocent smile, "I suggest you guys do it, too, especially with your practices."
If there was any way their tear ducts could burst to cry, it would already have as Tanaka and Nishinoya fell faceplant. Kageyama and Hinata's lips were quivering with fear but they were holding it in for dear life.
They were the only ones not preparing for the examinations.
"Also, I've brought a friend." Akane broke the atmosphere and softly nudged Yachi from behind her, "Everyone, this is Yachi-san."
"So many giants..." Yachi trembled.
"Ah! Another cute girl, see Tanaka?" Ennoshita tried to cheer up his friend, but neither him nor Nishinoya were perking up with the new girl.
"She's my study buddy, uncle. She wanted to say hi to the team." Akane told Keishin who waved at the scared-for-her-butt Yachi.
'Scary! That's her uncle?!' Yachi thought as she bowed at him.
Kiyoko approached her and put a hand on her shoulder, "If you're interested, you can become the team's manager for next term, Yachi-san."
Poor Yachi's soul left her body.
'Oh gosh, she's so pretty! The volleyball team have these beauties watching over?! Lucky!'
"M-manager?" Yachi stuttered and took a peek behind Kiyoko. Though calmed down, the boys still looked scary as they towered over her with an atmosphere of anticipation.
"Akane-chan!" She yelped out and hid behind Akane.
'Why am even this small?! If only I have at least this senior girl's height, these boys would probably be not so scary.' She thought to herself.
Akane gave a small laugh and put an arm behind her, holding Yachi's hand. She shooed away the boys, "Give her some space, you monkeys, you're scaring her."
They dispersed away and started to clean up. The thought of the final exams still hangs heavily over their heads.
Yachi stepped out from behind Akane's shadow, "I... I don't think I'd want to be a manager, senpai. I'm busy being with the batch's committee anyway."
'And living with these titans just ain't the life for me.'
Kiyoko nodded understandably but walked away with a slight resignation in her posture.
"Senpai, why not give it to Akane? She seems to be juggling between here and the committee, and she's doing a good job with it." Yachi suggested. It was true, though, that Akane was doing good with passing her classes, contributing to the committee plans, and helping out with the volleyball team.
"I'm only here because my uncle is the coach, Yachi-san." Akane replied shyly scratching her head.
Yachi stomped her small foot, "But still! That doesn't mean you're not good at all with managing those giants. We're around the same height but you're not scared to be around them!"
'We're not the same height, Yachi-san.' Akane replied in her head apologetically. Akane's a few inches taller than Hinata and Yachi is a few inches shorter than him.
Akane looked back at Kiyoko who was waiting for her answer, then to her uncle who gave her an encouraging nod.
"I'll give it a thought..."
