I'm so glad to see you again tonight

I smiled at my phone as it lit up to show the new text message I just received. I had waited a few days before texting for the first time Kate. She had given me her phone number the night we first met. I wanted to be sure that she was interested even after not hearing from me for some days.

Then I sent her my first message, seeming like I had been hesitating, after all, she had left quite abruptedly that night. I could act like I wasn't even sure myself if I was willing to meet again.

She had answered rather quickly as if she was waiting for it. I could almost see her looking at her phone every two minutes to see if she had received a message even if her phone wasn't on silent. I was quite impressed by how hook she was to a girl she had met more than once. But I might admit that I had played my role very well.

She was a vigilante. She had this deep will to protect and I made sure to look like a fragile girl, being awfully assaulted. She had been able to play the role of the protector. She had then felt the need to protect this weaker woman. And oh surprise, the weak woman had been oppressed by her conservative family and had found the strength to leave. But she found herself alone in an unknown city, she might need help ...

After the League had sent me her file, she had been really easy to read. And I played my cards right. So now we had been chatting over text messages and some calls. And the day before, she had invited me on a date. I accepted.

I'm glad too. But I must admit that I'm a bit stressed. I've never done something like that before. How should I even dress?

I put my phone down. I was really struggling on what to wear. She hadn't told me where we were going. Autumn was here and the nights were cold and often rainy. I walked around the flat, barefoot, the fair curly hair wig in one hand. That was the only thing I was sure of wearing for this date.

I'm glad that you're glad.

I'm stressed too

Wear something that'll keep you warm

I took out of the closet, black pants and a blue shirt, when another message popped up on the screen.

Not that I won't give you my jacket if you'd get cold ;)

I chuckled. She was getting bolder than before. Since we had starred talking, we talked to get to know each other, to see if we were getting along. Not much flirting. But I guessed the prospect of our date made her want to step up her game a little. I almost gagged of the cheesiness of my answer.

I'm glad that you're glad that I'm glad

It's so chivalrous of you

I was waiting in front of the subway station I just came out of. The weather was really cold. Gotham wasn't known for its cool evening autumn nights. I was wearing a leather jacket, a fluffy white scarf and some thin white gloves. I had mentioned once or twice to Kate that I wasn't fond of germs to have a reason that I won't take off the gloves. The real reason was that I wasn't ready to show anyone the scars on my wrists. It was maybe a bit crazy, but those scars were the only things that linked me to the good moments of my past. I wasn't ready for anyone to ask questions about them. I wanted to keep that part of me for myself only.

"Y/n? Over here!"

I turned around to see Kate parking her bike, a hand waving at me. I smiled and walked to her. She hopped off the bike and took off her helmet, brushing her hair with her fingers.
