 Damian's pov

My head hurt. I was having a terrible headache today and the bickering between Kate and Dick wasn't helping a bit. I looked in my father direction. He was rereading the papers that Dick had found during the fire of one of the League's place. They were scattered around the big table of the Batcave.

Nightwing had fought against the rank X. Unfortunately, she disappeared after a few punches. Dick didn't bother trying following her. He went inside the building before the firefighters arrived and tried to save as much papers as possible. He had found some non-burnt documents and a piece of my grandfather's armour in the bathroom.

"She said she left a gift for us. It is obviously a trap, you idiot!" Kate argued with an exasperated sigh.

"I know that it's a trap, shithead! That's why we should go well prepared." Dick exclaimed.

I reached for the piece of armour and with a smooth move I threw it in their direction, hitting Grayson on the forehead.

"For God's sake, shut the hell up! Both of you!" I said coldly with a deadly glare.

Dick grabbed the piece of armour and was about to argue but father decided to intervene.

"Damian is right. Please calm down and let's talk about the best way to deal with the situation."

"And please, refrain yourself to use such a fool language." Alfred added as he walked inside the Batcave with a tray of tea.

I massaged my temples with the tip of my fingers, trying to release the pressure. I saw Alfred glancing at me as he poured me a cup tea.

"Is there anything I can do to sooth your pain?" he asked me quietly not letting the others listen.

I shook my head.

"It's nothing."

Our eyes met and I knew I hadn't convince him one bit. I was used to have headaches while being in a stressful situation. But it had become worse since we learnt about the League being active again in Gotham and the appearance of the Rank X. I was on edge every fucking second. Even alone in my room, laying on my bed, the smallest noise would make me look around, a hand reaching for my katana. Even if deep down I knew that Wayne's manor was surely the safest place in Gotham. I never had been so jumpy before. The memories of my assassin training coming back by flashes wasn't helping either. The ghosts of my past were back to haunt my days and nights.

As a comfort mechanism, I rubbed my scared wrists against each other, under the table, gaining back control over my thoughts. I grabbed the steaming cup of tea and drank it in one go, not caring about the burning sensation. Putting down the cup on the table, I focused on what my father was saying.

"The satellite shows human activity around the abandoned wood factory that is spotted on the map Dick found in the fire the Rank X started." Bruce summarised.

"The Lazarus pit is definitely there. The Rank X and Talia surely asked for more protection now." Kate said.

"What make the League of Assassins so powerful and indestructible are the Lazarus pits scattered around the world. Without the pits, the organisation is only a big and powerful one, but with the resources we have, it would be possible to destroy it completely. Unfortunately only my mother knows where the Lazarus pits are. She knows every locations. Destroying the pit near Gotham is only the starting point." I explained. "The question is, did the Rank X want us to find this map?" I said, pointing at the map Dick had found in the fire.

"Well, first option, she didn't want us to find it. She started the fire to destroy the documents but something didn't go as plan and she had to leave before making sure all the documents were ashes. If she found out that Nightwing has the map and she is going to ask for more men to protect the Lazarus pit." Dick stated.
