 Damian's pov

Sneaking out of the manor had been easy. Y/n was wearing some of my clothes and had strapped her katana to her back. Her steps were quick and steady despite her wound and tired state.

I had brought her back to her cell in the Batcave under the watchful eyes of my father. Then they all left to rest. Kate and Dick even went back to their own apartments. I went to my room and changed into dark clothing and strapped blades to my belt and tights and my katana to my back.

I joined Y/n in the Batcave and handed to her her katana. She hold it close to her chest and pressed her lips on the ito – the hilt wrap – before strapping it to her back. I frowned at her gesture. It was not common for the members of the League to express their gratitude to their blades. She rose an eyebrow when seeing me staring.

"What?"

I shook my head. "Nothing".

We slip through the night unnoticed. The pale moon was darken by black clouds, heavy of rain.

As we reached the forest separating Gotham from the Wayne's property, the silhouette of the manor disappeared behind us, I gave her a burner phone. Without hesitation she punched the numbers and after a few seconds someone answered.

"I'm on my way back. I have the gift with me." she said without waiting for the person to talk. Then she gave our current location. The other person said something and she nodded before hanging up and crashing the phone against the bark of a tree.

"Let's go" she said, turning away from me as she made her way through the trees.

I followed her, watching her every move. She didn't seem bother by the wound on her tight.

"So, I guess I'm the gift" I said with a small smile.

I heard her chuckle. I couldn't see her face but I was sure there was at least a ghost of a smile.

After a few minutes we reached a muddy path where a van was parked. Y/n didn't hesitate. She opened the doors at the back and disappeared inside. I was about to follow when the sound of starting engine roared inside. A second later, Y/n came out, riding a motorbike. She threw a helmet at me.

"Put this one and jump on." she said.

I looked down at the black helmet then back at her.

"You don't have one."

She rolled her eyes. "The idiot forgot to pack two. You're more important than I so put it on."

"I ..." I started to protest but stopped when the van drove away. I hadn't seen anyone except for us.

"Come on Damian, we don't have all night."

I sighed. "Can I at least drive?"

She send me a glare.

"Never mind."

I put the helmet on and went behind her, grabbing the sides of the bike to stay stable. As soon as she was assured I was well seated, she drove at the opposite side of the van.

It felt like two hours of riding, Gotham far behind us, when she finally stopped in a small aerodrome. Looking around, I had the feeling it's on a private property of some rich family, living in the outskirts of Gotham. I vaguely remembered a party I attended with my father for some kind of charity. How the people in charge of the charity event were involved with the League without us knowing?
