Found Family (HoO, Mortal AU)

REYNA AVILA RAMIREZ-ARELLANO

Her and Rachel decided to meet up for brunch. Rachel said dinner was 'too fancy'. Reyna didn't mind, though. Being anywhere with Rachel was her idea of perfect.

Rachel was wearing jeans that had a bunch of doodles but they still looked amazing. Reyna knew how talented she was. The only problem was her phone practically exploding with notifications.

"I'm sorry," Rachel said, before powering off her phone. "You see, when Frank and Hazel first went out I kinda thought it'd be funny to spam Frank. I guess this is payback."
Reyna laughed. "Well, you deserve it then."
"You're supposed to be on my side!"

Frank wasn't the only one who knew Reyna and Rachel were going out to brunch. All of their friends knew, too. Reyna didn't mind at all. She was proud to be with her.

Everything went amazingly. They couldn't stop talking. Rachel surprisingly wasn't that open about herself, but she made Reyna laugh all the time. Her stomach hurt from laughing so much.

They walked outside together, which is when they realised how annoying their friends were.
"Is that Will's jeep?" Rachel asked, looking over to a jeep at the park across from the cafe.
"I'm sure it's not- probably just looks similar." Reyna said, hoping she was right.
Rachel laughed. "It's Will's. No one else would have a baby Yoda figure on the rear-view mirror of their car."

Reyna couldn't help but laugh. Rachel was right.
"Anyway, let's go for a walk in the park. And hope we don't run into Solace."

[WILL SOLACE]

Percy convincing Will to climb a tree was probably not smart. Now, the two of them were hiding, almost falling every five seconds.
"Adorable," Percy muttered as Rachel and Reyna walked by the tree, hand in hand. He texted Frank quickly. Will grabbed onto a branch before falling.

[RACHEL ELIZABETH DARE]

Percy and Will really thought they were slick. They definitely didn't have super-spy skills.

[HAZEL LEVESQUE]

Hazel sat on the park bench with Frank, just talking, totally pretending they were on a date. She pretended to not see Rachel and Reyna, who quickly turned the other way. Frank spoke into the walkie talkie, even though they could've easily used phones.

[REYNA AVILA RAMIREZ-ARELLANO]

It was no coincidence that Frank and Hazel went to that park. Reyna knew that. It was also no coincidence that Piper and Grover were litter picking.

[GROVER UNDERWOOD]

Saving the planet while annoying Rachel? Amazing.
Rachel and Reyna walked past, heads down. They couldn't ignore everyone forever. Grover spoke back into the walkie talkie.

[RACHEL ELIZABETH DARE]

Grover and Piper too? These people were so annoying.

[JASON GRACE]

He didn't understand mythomagic, yet he sat on the grass, playing a card game with Nico. Once he heard Grover from the walkie talkie, he got ready.

[REYNA AVILA RAMIREZ-ARELLANO]

Even Jason and Nico joined in. They were so irritating. Reyna knew she couldn't keep ignoring them, so she stuck her middle finger up while walking past. Nico and Jason just smiled innocently.

[LEO VALDEZ]

He stared at the book, pretending to read.
"This isn't fair. I'm dyslexic." He said to Annabeth.
"So am I," she replied, before hearing Nico talk through the walkie talkie. Leo went back to pretending to read, before seeing Reyna and Rachel.

[RACHEL ELIZABETH DARE]

As hard as she tried to be angry, she couldn't help but laugh. They were hilarious and annoying. Thankfully, Reyna was laughing, too.

They got back to the exit, where everyone was somehow waiting. Rachel knew she was blushing like crazy.
Annabeth was brushing leaves out of Percy's hair. Grover was still trying to collect litter.

"Okay, okay, Frank. You got your revenge." Rachel rolled her eyes.
"What do you mean?" Frank asked. "This wasn't revenge. Hazel and I just came here to go for a walk. We bumped into the rest of us on the way."

Reyna raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, cause Annabeth and Leo totally went to the park together to read."
Leo nodded. "Yup I love reading. Woo! Books!"
"And Will and Percy always hide in trees?" Rachel said.
"All the time," Percy nodded.
"Everyday," Will added.

"Nico and Jason go outside and play cards?" Reyna asked.
Jason held up one of the cards. "Yup. Uhm. Zeus. Cool guy."
Nico facepalmed.
"Grover and Piper go litter picking together?"
Piper put up her hands. "Saving the environment, what can I say?"

Reyna laughed. "We aren't idiots."
"That's news to me." Percy whispered. Rachel stuck her tongue out at him.
"Anyway," Reyna linked her arm in Rachel's. "We better get going."
"Same," Will nodded. "Plenty of trees to climb."
"Yes! I can't wait to find out what happens to Romeo and Juliet!" Leo exclaimed.
"That isn't what you were reading," Annabeth mumbled. "Plus Romeo and Juliet is a play, not a book."

"Shh! Forbidden love," Leo wiped away a 'tear' that didn't exist. "So, so sad."
Jason seemed to roll his eyes. Rachel didn't know why.
Reyna spun around with her, leaving their friends behind.

[REYNA AVILA RAMIREZ-ARELLANO]

She loved them annoying assholes.
"So," she said. "Have you ever been on a motorbike?"
Rachel gasped. "No!"
"Do you want to go on one?"
"Yes!"
"Alright," Reyna smiled. "I'll take you for a ride then I'll take you back to your car."

Rachel practically screamed the whole time they were on the motorbike, though she seemed to be having the time of her life. Her arms were wrapped around Reyna's waist. Reyna eventually went back to the car park beside the cafe, though she didn't want Rachel to leave yet.

Rachel got off the motorbike, taking off the helmet.
"That was so fun!"
Reyna smiled. "I know, right."
"Well, I better get going," Rachel said.
"Yeah. Today was great, by the way."
Rachel grinned. "Next week again?"
"Absolutely. See you tomorrow at school."
"Can't wait."
