ch. 38: fresh start

One night Mike and Aria are sitting on the couch watching tv then there's a knock on the front door

'I got it' Mike says, he gets up and opens it

'Hey Mona' Mike says, he looks at Aria, she gets up and walks up to them, Mike goes back to sit down

'Hey, what's up?' Aria asks

'Can I come in?' Mona asks

'Yeah, of course' Aria says, Mona walks in and Aria shuts the door and locks it

'Is your guys mom home?' Mona asks

'No, why?' Mike asks

'Well I just told the others this but our plan is canceled because Alex and Ezra turn themselves in because they are reopening Radley and building more of them, which means they are going there and so is Toby, but Alison told me that they are going to separate Radley's hospital across the world and if they have contacted with each other they will be put to death by lethal injection, they are not going to take any chances with them' Mona says

'I don't blame them if they did that, I wonder if I can watch Ezra die?' Aria asks, thinking out loud, Mona and Mike looks at her confused

'Ok anyways did you get your letter from duke university yet?' Mona asks Aria, Aria looks at her

'Oh yeah, I just got it today it's in my room, I'll go get it' Aria says, she goes upstairs

'Is this finally over for now?' Mike asks Mona

'For now yes but in the future I don't know of' Mona says, she sits on the couch

then Aria comes back down and hands it to Mona, Mona takes it and opens it, she reads it

'Well it looks we're sharing a room together in duke university' Mona says

she hands her the letter Aria takes it, her and Mike gets up, Mike reads it

'Holy crap!' Mike says

'I knew it was a long shot but...' Aria starts saying before Mona cuts her off

'But it's exciting!' Mona says, she kisses her

'Which means that you're stuck with her for four years' Mike says, they look at him

'I rather be stuck with her, then be stuck with Alex, Ezra or Toby' Aria says, Mona smiles

'Good choice' Mona says, she kisses her

They go out to celebrate Aria's and Mona's accepting letters

'Hanna and Spencer gets into Brown university together, Caleb and Lucas gets into Yale university together, and we got into duke university together, we all are going our Separate ways now' Mona says

'Yeah but at least we have a fresh start on life without A or Alex, Ezra or Toby' Aria says

'Hopefully' Mona says

'Why you say that for?' Aria asks

'I don't mean to be a party pooper but every time we get the slightest of happiness it gets ruin by someone evil wanting to ruin our lives for awhile you know?' Mona says

'Yeah, I felt the same way when we find out that it was Toby behind all of it before' Aria says

'Like you said maybe college will be a fresh start for all of us' Mona says, she smiles

'Yeah, that's the first time in a long time that i got to see you smile' Aria says

'Yeah, I know, I don't show my smile much as I should but since college expect me to smile more' Mona says

'Make sure your teeth are clean first' Aria says, in a joking way

'Rude much' Mona says, Aria chuckles

'I'm just kidding' Aria says

'You better be' Mona says

'After college what do you want to do first?' Aria asks

'Well first I want to get a job then talk about marriage and kids' Mona says

'You have practice my last name haven't you?' Aria asks, Mona blushes

'Maybe a little bit' Mona says

'Mona Vanderwaal Montgomery, huh it does catchy, you don't have a middle name right?' Aria asks

'That is correct, you're going to have two last names Vanderwaal Montgomery' Mona says

'Aria Marie Vanderwaal Montgomery, interesting' Aria says

'Is it too soon that i already pick out the names of our kids' Mona says

'No, what you got in mind?' Aria asks

'Savannah and Claire' Mona says

'Why do I feel like Savannah will be a wild child and Claire is too but more mature' Aria says, they laugh

They hang out for a little bit longer then they head back home

A few months later they all just graduated rosewood high school they are sitting in the courtyard at their table

'These past four years have been interesting to say the least' Emily says, they laugh

'especially this year' Hanna says, they laugh

'thank you Mona for two of those years and pushing us to our mental breaking point' Spencer says, they laugh

'You're welcome' Mona says, Spencer looks at her and chuckles

'Anything on Radley?' Aria asks

'The state has deicde to lethal injection them anyways but not Alex' Hanna says

'Why not?' Spencer asks, Hanna looks at her

'Because she's pregnant' Hanna says, everybody is in shock

'Is Ezra the father?' Caleb asks

'Or is it Toby?' Lucas asks

'We have no idea' Alison says

'You guys have to stay here because of Alison's job' Aria says

'Yup, that and I'm the coach for the girls swimming team' Emily says

'Oh my god congratulations!' Mona says

'Thank you' Emily says

'I think that we should be thanking Mona for all she did for all of us for the past couple of years' Lucas says, Mona smiles

'You all are welcome but just being in this friend group is thanks enough' Mona says

'Why am I happy and sad that we all are leaving?' Spencer asks

'Because we won't be able to see each other that much anymore' Caleb says, they sit in silence for a couple of minutes

'How about after college we come back and see if this town is the same or different then we would decide to stay here and raise our kids or leave for good' Hanna says

'Sounds like a plan to me' Lucas says, they all agrees on that

'Guys it's time to go' Aria says

they all stands up and hugs each other says their goodbyes then leaves to have their fresh starts on their lives
