Y/N POV

School had just got done. I walked out to my vehicle, upset. I didn't wanna have to go to work, but I had too. I sighed and was just about to get into he car when Opal ran over to me.
"Hey, you think you're able to hang out? Maybe we can talk about what's happening right now. I can try and help with the work too..." Opal stuttered slightly.
"No... I have to go to work." I muttered.
"But didn't you work yesterday? I thought today was your day off." Opal said, confused.
"My boss needed the extra help today since one of my other co-workers were sick. So I decided why not." I explained.
"Y/N you're always helping out when people need or want it. You're going to stress yourself out. You already are stressed out basically. And overwhelmed. You need to start taking time for yourself." Opal said.
I shrugged. I needed the money. And work was a good excuse to get away from my family.
"Nah. I'm good." I said.
"Y/N please... I don't want my best friend to... Ya know..." Opal said.
"I'll be just fine. Ok? Stop worrying." I said, putting on a fake smile.
Opal sighed.
"Well, I better go. Don't wanna miss the bus. Cya Y/N." Opal said.
"Cya Opal." I said, waving as she walked off.
I got in my car and started it. I then pulled out of school and headed to work. I worked at a small coffee shop. Only about 10 minutes away from the school. Maybe less, I never really timed it or checked. I parked and walked in.
"Heya Y/N. Thank you so much for coming in." My boss, Jen, Said.
"Yeah, no problem Jen." I said, clocking in.
After about 20 minutes, A familiar face came in. I kinda sighed. It was Peter. He always came to the coffee shop. He acted so different outside of school. Sometimes I just wonder if he has family issues and that's why he acts the way he does.
"Hey, Peter. How's it going?" I asked as he approached.
He shrugged a little, looking off to the side and refusing to make eye contact.
"The usaul?" I asked, half smiling.
"Yeah." He muttered.
I rang him up and handed the ticket to Jen.
"Sorry about earlier. I told TK to leave you alone... They didn't listen." I said.
"It's cool." He said, looking over at me.
I had to admit... I was always into the goth look. I'd like to dress like that myself, but my parents would kill me. I also slightly liked Peter... But he hated me.
"Here's this for ya." Jen said, handing it to Peter.
"Thanks." He said.
"I'll have that work done for you ASAP." I said.
He smiled a little and nodded. I smiled back. I can't believe he just smiled at me. Like an actual smile. But why? I decided to just assume he was being nice cause my boss was standing right there, but still that doesn't seem like him. I sighed mentally and decided to just ignore it. Don't wanna overthink things.

Peter's POV

I stepped outside and walked over to the nearby alleyway. I felt a little guilty for what I did to her earlier. But that jerk, TK, had to come fuck with me of course. I smiled to myself. She had such a beautiful smile. And she smiled at me. She has before, but it's rare. And half the time they are fake smiles or nervous ones. But this time that one was real.
"Soon she'll be mine~" I sighed to myself.
