Y/N POV

It was lunch time. I was sitting next to Opal, who wouldn't stop asking questions.
"What the hell was Adrian talking about? Were you really holding hands with Peter? Are you actually dating him? You can be honest with me. I'm your friend, Y/N." Opal said.
"I know! I know! I don't know though... I don't know what me and Peter are... I say we're just friends. But... I'm just confused." I stuttered.
Opal sighed.
"At least he stopped being a dick to you." Opal said.
I nodded.
"I invited him to come with us to homecoming... But I know TK... Will be pissed." I explained.
"I'll talk to TK." Opal said.
I looked at her shocked.
"Really?" I asked.
Opal nodded.
"Of course Y/N." Opal said.
I hugged her.
"Thanks for being there for me." I said.
"No problem, bestie." Opal said,
"Hey guys." TK said, sitting down across from us.
"Hey TK." Opal said.
I smiled at them. They smiled back.
"So... This morning was very... Interesting." TK said.
"Yeah." I muttered.
"Why the hell was Adrian so pissed at you? Why does he care if you're hanging out with goth boy or not?" TK asked.
I looked at TK with a 'are you serious' look.
"Hey... I'm worried for your safety." TK said.
"TK. Y/N has invited Peter to hang out with all of us at homecoming. And we both are going to be VERY welcoming to Peter. Ok?" Opal explained.
TK looked at me and then at Opal.
"Of course. But if he tries and picks a fight with me... I swear I'll kick his ass." TK said.
"Kick whose ass?" Someone said.
We all looked over to see Peter walking over to us.
"Nobody's!" I said, panicked.
Opal rolled her eyes and so did Peter. He sat down next to TK.
"Y/N. Do you have work tonight? Since you didn't work yesterday?" Opal asked.
"Oh shit! You're right. I forgot to tell my mom that. Damn it!" I said.
"Well, maybe us 3 could visit you?" Opal said.
"Like I'm gonna go with you 2 to the coffee shop." Peter muttered.
"Why not? It's to visit Y/N." TK said, frowning.
"Yeah but then I have to deal with you 2." Peter said.
I sighed.
"Peter..." I muttered.
He looked over at me. He then sighed.
"Fine." He muttered.
"So we'll be at the coffee shop 15 minutes before you get off your shift." TK said.
I smiled and gave a thumbs up.

Peter's POV

It was 45 minutes after school. I sat out by the football fields, waiting for Y/N's friends to show up. I hated them... Mostly that TK kid. But whatever. At least the more I gain there trust, the more I'll be able to be around Y/N without dealing with those 2 complaining about me.
"Hey Peter." A voice said.
I turned my head to see Opal. She sat down next to me.
"Hey." I said.
"So... You and Y/N... Are... Friends now?" She stuttered.
"Yup." I said.
"Cool. I'm glad you 2 get along now." Opal said.
I nodded. We sat quietly for a while, waiting for TK. A little bit later, TK showed up.
"Ready to go?" They asked.
Me and Opal nodded, standing up.

Y/N POV

It was dead. It usaully is when it's nearly closing time. I looked at the clock. Peter and the other 2 should be here shortly.
"So, how was your date?" Jen asked, walking up to me.
"It wasn't a date, Jen. And it was actually very fun to hang out with him." I explained.
"That's good." Jen said.
Just then the front door open and TK, Opal, and Peter walked in.
"Hey Y/N." TK said.
"Hey guys." I said.
"I'm gonna go do dishes and get ready for closing. If you wanna leave early you can." Jen said.
"Wait, are you sure?" I asked.
"Yeah. I doubt anyone's gonna come in anytime soon. Plus, you wanna hang out with your friends." Jen said.
"Jen... I feel terrible just leaving you." I said.
"Y/N... There is only 20 minutes left anyhow. By the time you get there drinks made or whatever else they order, your shift is over. Plus, I only stay like a half hour after you leave. And if it stays this dead, I'll probably leave by the time you do." Jen explained.
"Thank you Jen." I said.
"No problem." Jen said, heading to the back.
I looked over my shoulder at the others.
"So whatcha guys want? I know what you want, Peter. Obviously." I said, smirking.
He gave me a half smile, but it faded quickly.
"I'll just get a smoothie. Surprise me with a flavor of your choice." Opal said, smirking.
"And you, TK?" I asked.
"Matcha Tea." They said, smiling.
"I'll get the same thing. Also, I'll pay for your guy's drinks." I said, ringing everything up.
"Are you sure, Y/N?" Opal asked.
"Yup!" I said, paying for everything.
After I made the drinks, I clocked out and we went and sat in the lobby.
"So, Peter. Didn't know you came here often." TK said.
"I just stop in here since it's on the way home." Peter said.
"Nice." Opal said.
"It would be bad if I lived near a coffee shop." TK said, chuckling.
"It's bad working at one. I mean it's good, but then you grow addicted to coffee. I don't remember the last time I went a day without coffee." I said, laughing a little.
"What's your preferred coffee choice?" Opal asked.
"Latte's. I love them. Especially iced." I said.
"I'm not much of a coffee person sadly." Opal said.
"You're missing out, Opal." TK said.
I looked over at Peter, who rested his head on his hand, messing with his chain necklace.
"You ok?" I asked.
"Mhm." He muttered, looking over at me.
"You wanna study at my place tonight? I should probably be home so my mom doesn't get mad." I asked.
"Sure." He said.
