Knees pressed against her chest, Hermione sat on her bed and looked out the window at the first light of dusk. There was no noise in the dormitory, which allowed her to think quietly about everything that had been going on in her head and heart lately...

Draco Malfoy was driving her crazy and she was angry at herself for constantly catching herself staring at him. Why had he done this? What had happened to make him resort to such drastic means? Wasn't he supposed to just insult her every time he saw her? So many questions which jostled in the tormented mind of the young Gryffindor. She knew that there was nothing strange about Malfoy's behavior and that the only plausible reason was his hatred for her. Yet the thought left a strangely bitter taste in her mouth, for she knew that for some time now, every time she saw him, her heart had been giving out a little crackle as if he were about to speak and say: I want you!

- I want you?" she said loudly, thinking she was alone. But what am I saying?... she murmured while plunging her head between her arms crossed on her knees. It's official: I'm going crazy...

- It is not madness, pronounced a small childish voice that she could recognize between thousand.

Hermione looked up with a quick movement. Her eyes widened as she discovered Luna Lovegood standing straight in front of her as if nothing had happened, her goofy smile plastered on her lips. Decidedly, her negligence would always amaze her.

- L... L... Luna? How did you get in here?!

- I overheard a Gryffindor telling your new password to a student who had forgotten it. And since I noticed you were lost in thought, I thought I'd pay you a visit. Anyway, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You can feel that way just fine.

- But what things are you talking about?

- What you were saying earlier. About wanting a boy. It's that blond-haired Slytherin, isn't it?

- You... you..." Hermione stammered. I don't know what you're talking about.

- Well," she continued in her silly voice, "I think you have a crush on Draco Malfoy, but he's done something to make you push your s...

- Okay, okay!" Hermione stopped her short, turning crimson. Anyway, there's no reason to deny it since you heard me. Might as well go straight to the point," said the brunette, taking a deep breath. The boy I was talking about is Malfoy, but I don't like him. Is that clear? Just so there's no confusion.

- You said it yourself. But I still think you think otherwise.

Hermione watched in dismay as the little Ravenclaw sat on her bed. Her radish earrings were a perfect reflection of her unique personality. There was no point in arguing with her. You just had to listen to her. Or pretend; that worked too.

- If you tell me the facts, I might be able to give you some advice," Luna offered with an innocent look and a clever eye.

- Why not... But it's not really advice that I need... How can I tell you that? No, you can't understand. You're not the one who has a boyfriend and at the same time is harassed by a boy who haunts your thoughts for unknown reasons.

- If it was me," the girl with platinum blonde hair continued, "I would go see this boy and ask him why he is doing this to me. Then, if the answer is negative for me, I try to forget about it and focus on my boyfriend.

- Negative? Because the answer could also be positive?

- Positive you say?" asked Luna with a teasing smile that had just made Hermione regret her question. It depends. He may very well tell me he's doing this because he loves me.
