Blaise stood in the corner, watching the two individuals. Admittedly, if someone had told him four years earlier that these two very different people would love each other, he would have laughed himself to tears. Today, however, it was truer than true. He smiled, realizing how much his friend had changed. Yet he knew that their love would not be easy. So the best they could do was enjoy it while they could. And the sight of them, standing motionless, five meters apart, outraged him to no end, so he decided to do something about it.
- Granger," he said as he passed Draco. I never thought I'd say this, but it's nice to see you again.
- Zabini?" Hermione gasped, finally noticing him. You...
- Yes, it's a long story. I just came to look pretty, but I'll leave you and Draco alone, don't worry," he teased with a wink.
Hermione immediately felt uncomfortable, so she headed for the living room. The two boys followed her, not quite sure what to do. Zabini stayed behind to take the temperature between the two characters. It was pretty clear at the moment that they weren't communicating as well as they should, in his opinion. But after all, it was understandable.
- Were you able to visit?" asked a very awkward Draco.
"VISIT??? VISIT????" Blaise couldn't believe his ears. Had Draco just asked her if she'd visited? This wasn't a meeting between a real estate agent and a potential buyer! His face decomposed at his friend's shameful attitude.
- Just the first one," replied Hermione, who had regained a childish shyness. And I took the liberty of taking the room at the end. But if it's not okay, I can...
- That's fine," interrupted the half-italian. I'll stay here, on the first floor. It's not that but...
He stood up and disappeared behind a door. Hermione, who didn't know what to do, imitated him, and Draco with her. He really didn't understand what was happening to him. He felt like an uptight teenager about to have his first girlfriend. But where had this sudden embarrassment come from? He would have gladly stuffed it in a drawer.
- You should rest," suggested the blond boy.
She nodded. She climbed the stairs to the room she had baptized her bedroom. Once inside, she sighed as she slumped onto her bed. It was certainly an extraordinary thing to be reunited with the Slytherin, but she was finding it hard to put herself at ease, especially after what he'd said to her and much more. If arguments, which had been their daily lot for many years, were no longer to be envisaged, it remained certain that communication would be quite difficult.
She decided that a good shower after all that time would do her a world of good. So she entered the bathroom, which was like an enchantment to her. A magnificent bathtub in a very regal style occupied it, but also a very elaborate shower, as well as two basins accompanied by a large mirror illuminated by light bulbs all around, some storage units, and all in a soothing, luxurious and oriental atmosphere. The young woman who heard the call of the bathtub waited no longer to fill it. Several bath salts were laid out beside it. She chose a pink-scented one and, once the tub was full, undressed and tied her hair up in a grotesque bun above her head, before slowly lying down in the large porcelain basin.
After a good fifteen minutes in the tub's warm water, the former red and gold finally decided to withdraw from this moment of intense well-being and step into the magnificent shower, where she washed her hair with the only shampoo she could find. It smelled so deliciously of fresh mint that she could have eaten it.
Just as she was about to go out, she realized that she had nothing to wear. She'd left her little satchel in the manor, and with it, all her necessities: clothes, toothbrush, books! And most importantly, underwear! With haste and apprehension, she began to rummage through the cupboards and finally found some towels. She'd have to make do with them, but she'd have to find some clothes to wear. Hermione took the largest towel she could find and tied it around her chest. With another small towel, she frantically wiped her unruly hair.
