Get your disgusting hands off her! Was all I could think, but I knew better than to show it, because Sarah was anyway destined to be mine. She knew it too, though I wondered what was taking her so long to admit it.

Finally Luke pulled away, and her gaze, which was so fogged up, landed on me and cleared away. We were meant for eachother. Her path would always be clear if she stuck to me.

“Hello Sarah” I smiled at her “Hello once again Luke. Pleasure” I told him. I would not keep my eyes off him. I entrusted Sarah to him, he better be taking care.

“Pleasure to meet you again too, but I don’t think we share this class” he replied.

“I know we don't” I said, calmly. I had only come to meet her, and to apologize for hurting her.

“I only came here” I began, fixing my gaze upon Sarah “To meet my Nightingale” she stood up to greet me, but I hugged her.

“Forgive me, Sarah.” I whispered “I will try spending more time with you. I promise, my Nightingale” pulling away, I simply kissed her forehead, smiled at her, and left the room.

I had requested James and Amelia to not accompany me, no matter how they begged.

“Master Kenny” Amelia called “You…you kissed her?”

I was, at first, taken aback, but then I relaxed and smiled “Of course.”

“But…she’s only a-” she began again

“I know.” I cut in “You’ll understand when the time comes”

James was quiet. He didn’t say anything. Was it because he found no reason to say anything or…or because he was afraid?

“James” I rest my hand on his shoulder “I can’t possibly be a good leader if my subordinates are afraid of me. It makes no sense, so please, don’t fear me.”

He relaxed a little and smiled.

“I understand, Master Kenny. I understand your feeling towards her, but it is as Amelia said. She is a human. You can not be a good leader by breaking the rules either.”

She’s a human. Yeah, so what? They knew nothing of what I felt for her.

I smiled at him, gently.

“Forgive me, Master Kenny, if I was impolite” and he went down to his knees.

“It is as I said. Do not fear me; you are my comrade.” I helped him stand “You are naïve. Time will tell. But for now, I have to attend class. You two too, go to your classes.”

“Our class is the same as yours” Amelia gladly pointed out, and they followed me, down the hallway, and into the next.

Lunch time would come up soon, just as soon as the Chemistry teacher left.

All he had to do was give us the homework.

“So class, I want you to do all the percentage composition exercises and submit it day after. And those in need of extra classes meet me in my room.” And with that, he gathered his books and left.

No sooner than I had stood up, did the bell ring and I rushed towards the door.

I had a promise to keep. I promised to spend as much time with her as I could. To never let her down, because of today morning.

When I woke up, a bunch of papers were clutched in my hand. I read them.

It was Sarah’s handwriting.
