I never knew that just not wearing the locket upset him so much, and guilt washed over me at the realization. I couldn’t sleep that night. If it was so bad for me…how would he be faring?

My doorbell rang. Who could it be this late at night? It’s already past curfew…

I opened the door, and my man came in.

“Sarah” he smiled “I have to ask you something”

“What?” I asked.

He went down, kneeling on one knee.

“Sarah” he smiled, keeping one hand on his chest and the other stretched out “Please dance with me this Sunday”

“humph” I breathed and turned my back on him “I’m dancing with someone else.” I said

“You’re kidding”

“No” I said. He stood up

“Why?” he asked

“You went away this morning, and didn’t even tell me! Of course I’m angry!” I raged

There was silence. I turned around to face him, but he was just two millimeters away from me.

“Is that so…?” he asked, looking deep into my eyes. I felt a bit mesmerized, but had to control myself.

I nodded “Yeah”

“Well then, let me apologize. I didn’t think me being away would cause you so much restlessness” he sighed

“Why? Don’t you think you’re important to me?” I asked, outraged.

He grinned. I gave him the exact answer he wanted.

“That’s…that’s not what I meant…” I said, feeling a bit uneasy.

“Then please” he said, ignoring my sentence and kneeling once again “dance with me this Sunday. You’ll have the time of your life. I promise”

Somehow, his behavior melted my heart.

“All right” I smiled “but for the second half only”

“Ok. I’ll appear in the second half only. I have to go visit my parents during the first half. Would you like to come along?” he asked

“No” I said “I’ll be with Luke at that time”

“Oh…well, I don’t mind. I know you’re feelings are loyal to me” he smiled. He was still kneeling

“How long are you going to stay like that?” I asked

“Until you reach out your hand and make this hand reach scene successfully romantic” he smiled. I obeyed.

Once he got to his feet, we mock waltzed all across my room

“I’m in love” he sang “la da de—la da da—la da deehe-eh…I’m in love with you baby”

I laughed

“Oh, I love you baby” he continued “be my lady.” He softened his tone “Cause I love you so much…my baby”

Of course he made me feel special. He made me so happy. That’s why I was sure I belonged with him

“A rose. Will you accept, my bird?” he asked, taking it out of his shirt pocket. He was still in a tux, so maybe he came here as soon as possible

“Of course, Master Ken” I bowed and took it from him, mocking the title the Sirens gave him.

“Hey” he chided softly “You are not supposed to call me that. Not you”
