Laura
I took updates from the vamps and Ravi. The vamps had gotten in contact with the dragon lord but they just needed another good proof. I was thinking about talking to them myself but again it would take two whole months for me to meet them. I had to finish my work here and only then was I going to be able to leave. I saved the three days' data in my laptop, checking it twice to make sure I put in the right information.
I had plenty of time left so I decided to study for my next entrance exams. I had to be in town to attend the sessions but I couldn't.
My professor had suggested that I train for some years before applying for M.D or M.S. I wanted to get into M.S because I knew that was going to help me here with the packs and with the other supernaturals and shifters.
My luggage carried more of my books, files and whatnot rather than my clothes and accessories. Logan used to tease me all the time with that. I had well interned with one of the known doctors in the country that I had studied in. I was glad I took the chance because it sure was helping me.
I had met at least one shifter-healer and had taken my own sessions with them to understand them better. Bookish knowledge wasn't going to be enough. I had to have hands-on practice if I was going to teach it to the others.
Working out to keep my body adapted, I was watching a lecture by one of my professor's.
My wolf was sad about the whole mate thing. She wanted to just go and check whoever it was. My damn Alpha wanted the pack to speak up and tell her who her mate was.
At the same time she was tied up because of our job. I was frustrated just as she was. It was too much.
How could one small scent make us feel so messy?
Goddess!
Sleep was out of the question tonight. My wolf kept growling and pacing in my head, making it impossible for me to do anything.
It was around one at night when my wolf started calling for her mate, howling uncontrollably. She was so done with the waiting and so was I.
Mate. It was all we could think of. It was all we were waiting for.
She felt him. I felt him. The person was near rather approaching us. I was burning and my wolf was howling on another level. I went outside for some cool air and that's when it hit me.
My mate. He was coming my way. I could feel it. I could hear him growling and howling in the night coming for me.
He knew we were here. Finally after so fucking long the damned maybe-mate was actually who we believed it was. His scent grew tenfold, dominating the entire pack, making sure everyone knew he was back.
The scent struck my senses in such a way that I had to grip the small table on the patio.
That heavenly scent. Holy mother of all scents!
I closed my eyes and breathed in all the air I could. It was an earthy euphoric scent with a hint of warm summer flowers dancing in the same euphoria.
But right now, in the place of those flowers I was the one dancing. I was the one rolling on the earth.
My wolf was still howling for her mate, who she knew was coming for her.
I was able to hear his footsteps. The way he was stomping and jumping, making his way through the forest was showing off how strong he was.
His growls were shaking up the ground, so strong and manly. The dominance in those growls stated he was an Alpha. He was the alpha of this pack. Alpha Indigo was my mate.
