It was late at night, Ruvik sat by the window of the worn out cabin, waiting. He stared out into the distant forest, just letting the peaceful slience settle with him. He glanced over his shoulder, staring over to the bed by where he sat, resting his eyes upon her sleeping figure.

Alis was still asleep.

Ruvik knew he was going to regret this.

For one seconed he listened with his heart instead of his brain. He allowed himself to take pity on her, and that led to him sheltering her and hiding her from the men that want her dead. If the Military Police caught wind of his disobedience, he's screwed.

Shaking his head, Ruvik got up and walked over to Alis. He pulled the blanket up to her shoulder and combed her hair out of her face, catching a smile slowly appear on her lips. She was too innocent for this world, she was too...pure.

She has never seen how fucked up the world really was, so instead she lives in her ignorant bliss about the truth. The curtain will never rise for her, and a part of Ruvik was envious of this. He envied her  ability to remain naive. Maybe that was another reason why he saved her, because she had something Ruvik has always wanted.

He stroked her hair affectionately before grabbing his coat and leaving.

He only took a bag full of money and the knife he always kept in handy. He traveled to the Stohess District and scaled the Wall, passing the drunk Military Police watchmen and simply dropped down.

Ruvik walked through the streets until he spotted a man standing by the fountain. A very tall and slim man with dark brown mullet that reached his neck with a thin beard tracing his jawline, and wore a black trench coat with a hat. Ruvik glanced around the area before he approached him.

When he walked closer, the man looked up. "Hello again, Ruvik."

"Kenny."

Ruvik doesn't like working for sketchy officers like the man he was standing in front of, but he didn't have much of a choice. He needed someone from the Military Police to get Alis into the Underground, he thought about approaching Shadis, but he really couldn't. Shadis may have been someone he's always trusted, but their were still things he still can't approach him with.

So, Ruvik decided to do find a place for Alis, himself. He did a little investigating and found a loose nail in th Military Police.

Kenny Ackerman.

The Ackerman didn't give a rat's ass about the MPs and was all in for personal gain, Ruvik just happened to be in that area. After a little favor, the deal was made and Kenny helped him.

"Where's the girl?"

"I left her back in Wall Rose," Ruvik answered. "Wanted to make sure you weren't planning to double cross me."

"Oh, and why would I want to double cross the Royal Watchdog of the Walls?" Kenny raised a brow. "You've helped us many times, Ruvikh, this is the least we can do. After all...You've done something for me that helped boost my reputation."

Ruvik glanced to the side, remembering Kenny's little deed for him. He was asked to help find the location of a woman's address. A blond haired girl crying, as her mother's throat was slit--that's all Ruvik really remembers. Lately, all of  his assignments connecting him with the MPs has become a huge blur. Not that Ruvik was complaining much, he kind of preffered it to stay that way. "It was no problem."

Kenny chuckled. "No doubt about that, nothing gets past you. Anyways, the path is clear."

"You're certain of this?"

Kenny crossed his arms and nodded his head. "Yes, my friends and I made sure of it. Who do you think provided those soldiers enough to get wasted off their asses during patrol?"

The Ackerman smirked after reassurring Ruvik that he did his part of the deal.

Ruvik was relieved to hear everything went as planned. "Good."

"Now, all you need to do is bring your girl over there." Kenny explained. "But may I ask why a man, susch as yourself, is going this far to protect a woman he barely knows?"

"Good question," Ruvik shrugged before turning his back on Kenny. "I have yet to know the answer to that myself."

As Ruvik was heading back to the cabin, he thought about just leaving Alis with his family back in the Shiganshina District, only to have the urge to smack himself for being stupid. She can't know who he is and what he does. He can see how it might be a bit off putting to find out that your savior is really a murderer who kills for money.

When he made it back, he gently woke her up. "Alis, come on. It's time to go."

"Ruvik...? What? Where are we--"

Alis didn't have time to finish her sentence when Ruvik helped her to her feet and draped on a brown cloak over her to help shield her from sight. He guided Alis outside and helped her get on his gray horse before climbing on the saddle himslef and taking off. She had her arms wrapped tightly around his torso as the horse galloped, transporting them to Wall Sina. He carried her on his back as he jumped off his horse, using his ODM gear to propell them closer to the wall and latch it's hooks on the concrete surface. Hopping them over to the other side and landing safely, allowing them to make their way through the capital city of Mistras, in the dead of night.

The lenghts he goes to protect someone important to him...
