Ruvik was standing on top of the wall, looking down at the destruction of his hometown. He had just returned from Scout Regiment Headquarters after they returned from the expediton he and the Scouts went on that day, only to witness a bigass titan kick a hole inside Wall Maria. He was there when the Colossal Titan kicked open the gates, he watched the titans invade--he saw it all and it'll forever be burned into the back of his brain.

He wasn't even planning to be visiting in the first place, but Shadis thought it would be best to have a little bit of family time--well, looks like that wasn't happening any time soon.

"Hey you!" A Garrison soldier shouted. "What are you doing jsut standing there?!"

The brown haired male remained silent, narrowing his eyes at the chaos before them. That was when the Garrison soldier noticed the Wings of Freedom insignia on the back of his jacket. "Wait a second, you're a Scout? What the hell are you doing? Get out there and take down the titans, damnit!"

Ruvik remained silent as he walked forward and came to a stop at the edge of the wall.

"Are you ever listening to me?!"

"Loud and clear." Ruvik finally spoke up.

"Then get your ass out there!"

He sighed before grumbling. "What the hell. Of all days, it just has to be right before I come back from work. Can't a bastard get a break for once?"

Witht that said, he took one step forward, intentionally slipping right off the wall. The soldier that was yelling at him previously, rushed forward and watched as the Scout manuevered his way into the city, slipping past building after building, before the Garrison soldier couldn't see him anymore.

Ruvik slipped past titans and flew over panicking citizens, killing a few titans who were in his way. Despite his words and cocky demeanor, his heart was racing, and his mind was battling with itself. He was looking for his family's house, the house he grew up in, and when he saw it in one piece, he sighed in relief.

He landed on the ground, pushing past the crowds of people who were running in the opposite direction to evacuate the city. When he reached the door, he slammed it open. "Mom?! Tobi?! You in here?!"

There was the sound of thumping footsteps and a nine year old boy came running down the stairs. "Ruvik! What's happening?!"

The soldier's eyes widened, he knelt down and engulfed his little brother in a hug. "What the hell are you guys doing here? You both need to evacuate, where's mother?"

Ruvik pulled away, brushing his brother's ash colored hair away from his face.

"Take Tobi with you, I'm staying."

His head shot up, finding his mother a few feet away from them. "What...?"

"I'm not going with you." Edna repeated, her face painted in sorrow.

"What the hell?" Ruvik looked at her in disbelief. "Have you gone insane?!"

She winced. "Maybe...Ruvik, please, take Tobias and go. Leave."

Ruvik stood up, tucking his brother behind him. "Why are you...Do you really hate us that much? Do you hate us so much that you'd rather than fight to live another day with your sons?!"

His mother pressed her lips into a thin line, she stared down to the wooden table." Leave, Ruvik."

"Momma?" Tobias held onto his brother's leg, before letting go and running over to their mother to pull her with them. But before Tobias could get out of his reach, Ruvik grabbed his arm. "Don't, we're wasting our time."
