Both Commander Shadis and Ruvik were taking a walk along the Training grounds late one night. It has already been 3 years since they started training the brats how to take on military tasks and bulk them into fitting shape.

As they two Training Commanders walked in silence, Ruvik turned his head to Shadis when he heard his voice. "Ruvik, what do you think of the new recruits so far? Do you believe thay are capable of handling whatever lies ahead?"

"Your guess is good as mine, if I'm being honest. We'll have to wait and see. From what I've observed, most of them have shown promising results."

Shadis opened his mouth to agree, only to be interrupted by the noise coming from the dining hall nearby. The older man growled in irritation. "Just what are those shitheads up to now!"

Ruvik followed behind Shadis as he marched up the porch steps to the building, not wanting to miss what he was sure would occur.

He watched as Shadis took a deep breath before slowly opening the wooden door, causing all noise from the inside to cease. "Would someone like to explain to us what the racket was all about?"

The room was dead silent.

The two Commanders walked inside, Ruvik had his hands folded behind his back as he analyzed the cadets faces. All of them avoiding eye contact with their superior in command.

The tension in the room was thick as Shadis waited for his answer, seconds felt like hours. Until someone was finally brave enough to raise their hand, Mikasa.

However, what really caught Ruvik by surprise was Mikasa's answer as she answered with a straight face, bluntly stating, "Sasha just ripped a giant fart, sir"

The whole room stiffled in laughter.

Even though Ruvik remained stoic and composed on the outside, inside he was no better than the rest that wanted to laugh their asses off. It only became harder to contain when he heard Shadis' reaction towards Sasha. "You again? For Christ sake, learn some self control!"

The poor girl felt so betrayed, it was priceless.

After Shadis marched out of the dining hall and shut the door, Ruvik sighed.

The cadets tensed up again when they saw that Ruvik didn't dismiss himself yet, and grew nervous as he walked down towards the last row of tables. The same direction where two specific cadets, that he suspected to be responsible for the commotion, were currently sitting.

He stopped right next to there table.

"Eren, Jean, if you both are going to start a fight, make sure you settle it outside the building next time. Alright?" Then Ruvik turned his attention to Mikasa, who was sitting on Eren's right. "And Mikasa, as impressive as your quick thinking was to diffuse the situation, I suggest using a lie that doesn't humiliate your comrades, or include their bowels..."

"Yes, Captain."

As Ruvik was exiting, he heard everyone continue conversing with their friends, and Sasha wailing at Mikasa for calling her out, Ruvik felt a smile worm its way onto his lips.

These cadets really were something.

Ruvik was asleep back at the Scouts Headquarters, until he woke up to someone knocking at his door. The Captain sat up scratching the back of his head as he yawned out. "Yes?"

"Sir, it's expedition day. Commander Erwin sent me to inform you."

Ruvik stretched his arms to wake himself up, and sighed. "Understood, thank you. Please tell him I'm on my way."
