Chapter Twenty: Epilogue

About a year has passed since the time that Deku surprised Ochako with returning home to Japan to propose to her. They both continue to have vibrant careers as professional heroes but both have the desire to move to the next phase of their adult lives: as husband and wife.

To be honest, they were both ready to go through the formalities of the wedding itself long before this and even threw around the idea of quietly eloping, but decided not to because of how many old friends and family would want to see them tie the knot. Given that Deku is also now the world's number one hero and that Ochako is in the top ten herself, they even consented to having their wedding being aired on television for any fans that also wanted to be a part of the experience.

In planning for the event, they talked about doing a traditional style Japanese wedding, but because Deku interned in the United States and Canada, he couldn't help but grow to appreciate elements of western style weddings while working as a hero there. Therefore, they decided to blend elements of both styles into their ceremony, choosing to get married at a church and wear western style wedding clothes, but have Japanese style food and music in the background.

The day began as a solemn beautiful day during cherry blossom season. The petals were just starting to fall from the trees and served as the perfect backdrop for the occasion. All of the guests invited to the occasion had arrived, from their parents, to their former UA instructors, to their former UA classmates who have all become professional heroes themselves.

As both Izuku and Ochako made their final preparations for the wedding, they both felt butterflies in their stomachs. Ochako naturally wanted to have her girl friends of 1A serve as bridesmaids, and were helping her with the finishing touches of her hair and dress. She was nothing short of stunning in her wedding dress! The cover shot of a bridal magazine paled in comparison to her beauty in this given moment!

"Kero! How do you feel Ochako-chan?" asked Tsuyu. 

"I feel great, yet terrified, yet hopeful at the same time if that even makes sense." 

Momo then imparts some wisdom. "Back when Todoroki-san and I had our wedding, I felt a similar feeling myself. It can feel scary, and I'm not going to pretend that married life is going to constantly be this wonderful fairy tale every day, but when you know you love who you're married to without question, and you know that they love you, it feels like you can make it through any hardship that life throws at you!" 

"Thanks Momo-chan! That's a really good way to look at it!"

Mina changes the mood in a way only she could. "So Ochako-chan, got any lingerie or seductive board games to play on your honeymoon? You know you gotta spice things up in the bedroom soon!! Heh heh!!" Uraraka became beat red at the thought.

"I...I didn't even think that far ahead! Deku-kun isn't that type either!" 

"Oh really? I bet that will change soon! Kirishima-kun and I love doing role-play when we're both home from work and..." 

"Mina-chan, let Ochako-chan enjoy this moment! She's more gorgeous than she's ever looked and needs to get through her wedding first!" Chided Toru.

"Yeah, I think it's a good time to give her some space. Let's go to the chapel and just wait there til she's ready to come out." Said Jiro.

They each hug her as they leave the room for her to be by herself. Once they're all gone, she has a couple minutes to solemnly reflect on things. I'm really doing this! Deku-kun is going to be my husband soon! She thought as she began to be misty eyed. Just then a knock came at the door. "Come in." she said casually.
