Jordan Campbell can eat shit.

Why?

Well lets see what didn't he do today?

I guess I should start when I woke up late this morning.

It never happens to me, which just shows how crappy today was already.

When I woke up, it was because Poppy shook my shoulder telling me it was already seven a.m.

I didn't have time to do my hair which is why it's on a bun on top of my head.

No time for make up and I even put my skirt on before my shirt.

Now my shirt is all wrinkly and I don't feel like myself without my hair touching my neck like a safety blanket.

I didn't eat any breakfast so I was famished by first period.

In English I sit in my usual seat, a few moments after I sit down Jordan joins me sitting down beside me.

He runs a hand through his disheveled dark brown hair.

"Ready to get those test scores Taylor? You can treat me to ice-cream at the dining hall tonight."

I turn to him furrowing my brows, "Why would I do that?"

He chuckles, "When I get the better grade of course."

"Not happening but it's good to dream Campbell." I tell him.

Mrs. Webber walks in, the stack of tests in her hand.

"Ok class, first I will be handing out the tests we took yesterday. I would like to say I am proud of all of you, everyone got above a C, two students even got a perfect grade. After that we will be playing my famous define the word. I will call two students up at a time and give you a word, you will ring the bell and define the word until the end of the time. Whoever has the most defined words at the end wins." She smiles.

Walking down the aisles she hands out the tests, making sure they are flipped over to keep it personal.

She sets mine down then Jordan's.

"Ready?" He asks holding the corner of his test.

I grab mine, "Yep."

We both flip it over and I immediately flip mine back over.

Jordan got a perfect grade....I did not.

Nope I wasn't one of the two with the perfect grade, I got a A minus.

A fucking A minus.

"Hey don't sweat it Taylor we all have our off days. Well except me."

I huff, "Shut up."

"Ok, I feel a tiny bit bad. How about I buy us ice cream tonight? We can celebrate my first but not last test I aced this year."

I turn to look at him, "You are not helping my self confidence right now."

I feel so exposed even though the only ones who know about my grade are Jordan and Mrs. Webber.

An A minus is practically a failing grade. Not just in my parents eyes but mine.

"First we are going to have Sadie and Kurt." Mrs. Webber says and both Sadie and Kurt stand, walking to the front of the classroom.

Mrs. Webber starts and Sadie ends up winning.
