I think this debate is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.
Honestly I am so stressed I have broken out in a sweat and my heart is racing.
Looking over to my right I can see Jordan's eyebrows pulled together in concentration. His eyes meet mine and he smirks.
The asshole knows he's winning and all I want to do is knock that cocky smirk off his face.
I am out numbered and the moment the topic was brought up I knew I was fighting a losing battle.
Still I had to at least try or I'd be stuck listening to him gloat for hours.
"It's so boring are we seriously arguing about this?" I ask and he nods before turning his head and nodding towards the traitor.
"Della you want to play Rummy right?" He asks and her eyes meet mine.
Casper sighs from behind me, "Quinn we can play Cheats another time."
I send a glare his way, "We play Rummy too much Casper. Literally every time we play card, can't we play a new game this one time?"
Since we were freshman the go to card game has always Rummy and I can't even voice how much I loathe that boring ass game.
Seriously after four years it loses its appeal.
"Della wants to play Rummy so we are playing Rummy." Jordan says and I send my glare towards him.
"She was fine playing Cheats until you brought up Rummy asshole."
He rolls his eyes, "Don't be a sore loser Taylor."
"You're playing dirty talking about all the times we played Rummy before."
He rolls his eyes, "It's a game Taylor."
I huff, "Fine but I hope you are well acquainted with your right hand, it'll be your best friend tonight."
His eyes widen, "Now who's playing dirty?"
"Pick your poison Campbell. If we play Rummy you'll spend the night in that bed, Alone." I shrug, "Or we can just play the game I want like we were supposed to do at first, and well lets just say you won't be alone."
He groans and Della laughs from her seat on the couch.
"You're telling me you miss these two idiots arguing about everything?" Casper asks throwing an arm behind her on the back of the couch.
She nods, "Trust me this is straight up the only entertainment I get. Plus I love watching Quinn handle Jordan by the balls."
Jordan sends her a narrowed looks, "She does not."
Casper snorts, "Sure man, so what game is it going to be?" He asks, a confident smirk on his face.
Jordan looks back over at me and I shrug, "Yeah Campbell what will it be?"
He scrubs a hand down his face, "You three fucking suck." he says before sitting on the couch directly across from the one Della and Casper are sitting on.
there is a dark brown coffee table sitting between us with a stack of cards waiting to be played.
Casper and Della share a knowing look before he grabs the cards and shuffles them and hands the cards out.
We spend the next hour playing Cheats. Then for our last game I allow Rummy because Jordan is sulking beside me like someone kicked him puppy.
"I'll see you soon." Della says wrapping me into a tight hug.
She gives Jordan one and then Casper one and we say goodbye before getting in Casper's car.
"Should we get food?" Casper asks looking at the time.
It was currently four in the afternoon but I guess an early dinner wouldn't hurt.
Especially since I knew what was awaiting me the moment Jordan and I were alone in the house together.
I nod, "Yeah we can stop at that Chinese restaurant I saw on the way here." I say and we head to the restaurant.
Once we get there we talk a seat in one of the booths. Casper and Jordan sit side by side leaving me sit on one side alone.
"Seriously Campbell." I say as he slides in beside Casper.
He shrugs, "Gotta spend some time with my bestie Angel. You get me all to yourself tonight."
I roll my eyes, "Whatever." I mutter as I grab the menu.
Am I jealous of him and Casper laughing about something across from me, yes.
I feel like a third wheel with my own boyfriend.
What is even happening right now?
When the waitress comes to take our order Casper and Jordan are so deep in conversation they don't realize she's waiting for their order.
I give her an apologetic smiles, "Sorry they just got engaged. You know newly engaged bliss or whatever." I joke and her eyes widen.
"Oh they look a bit young." She says and I nod, "They are and it's crazy see the one right there." Point to an oblivious Casper, "His dad was completely against it."
She gasps, "Why?"
"they come from rival families, honestly it's a bit too Romeo and Juliet for my taste except they didn't die. They just showed their parents how in love they were and both of their families approved."
She smiles, "that's such a cute story. I'll make sure to bring a cake later for them and the meals on us."
I shake my head, "We'll pay but I'd love the cake."
Then I smack the table loudly making the poor waitress jump.
"Order." I tell them and both Jordan and Casper rattle off what they want.
The waitress, Lennie, nods before turning to Casper and Jordan.
"Congrats by the way." She giggles, "God this is so cute." She mutters to herself before heading off.
"What was that about?" Casper asks and I shrug, "I have no clue."
Honestly they should think twice before making me a third wheel again.
Jordan and Casper eventually find out what I did though when dessert comes around and Lennie brings over three pieces of cake with 'Happy engagement' written on top.
"What the fuck is this?" Jordan asks and Lennie walks away.
I smile, "Eat up lovebirds my food baby is squished in my jeans."
Casper glares at me but eats the cake anyway.
Jordan mutters something under his breath about me being a problem starter but eats the cake too.
Of course later that night he shows me my punishment for the cake.
Is it a punishment though if I love it?
