I spun around sharply and came face-to-face with a figure in black overalls-easily over six feet tall. Startled, I took a step back, tripped over the couch behind me, and tumbled to the floor.

"Argh..." I groaned, climbing up slowly. He remained planted in place, watching me intently.

"Could've helped," I muttered, exasperated.

He still didn't move. Sighing at his silent stare, I turned around-only to realize he'd moved to the couch and patted the seat beside him.

One minute passed. Finally, he looked up at me. "Sit."

I rolled my eyes but sat.

He tapped his phone, and "Fly Me to the Moon" began playing. Classic.
"So we just...hang out and listen to music while people die out there?Didn't know being a killer was this...relaxing." I quipped.

He leaned forward, voice colder than expected. "I'm not a killer. I manage."

"Right...managing their future funeral bills?" I shot back sarcastically.

He lunged forward, wrapping a hand around my neck and pulling me close to his mask. My breath hitched.

"You're lucky you're still alive," he whispered harshly. "That attitude could've killed you. But...I do have a soft spot for pretty, feisty girls like you," his tone softened as he released me.

I crossed my arms. "Don't touch me like that. You're probably an old creep thinking he's hot."

He raised a finger sharply. "Listen-"

"Bite me," I replied, grabbing that finger. He pulled me closer with it.

"Shut up and just watch," he muttered.

《Few Moments Later》

Over time, our interactions actually became...normal.

"Right in the head!" I cheered at the marble game on screen, arms trembling.

"He was my favorite..." he fumed quietly. "And he was only on number 56. And he died!"

I threw myself back on the couch, laughing.

"It's about to finish," he said, standing. "Time to head back."

He offered his hand and led me toward the elevator.

We got into the lift.

The doors opened. A square-masked guard and two triangles waited. "Follow me."

《Main Room》

I stepped out. Every player was there, waiting-eyes burning in my direction.

Suddenly, Mi-nyeo tackled me to the ground.

"Y/N! You're alive!"

"Are you hurt?"

I was bombarded with hugs and questions.

"Guys! I'm okay! They just took me out for...uh, fairness sake."

Sang-woo eyed me knowingly, obviously reading between the lines.

When night fell, sleep didn't come easy. I sat up and noticed Player 240 was awake too. I sent a soft "pst."

She responded with a whispered "What?"

"Come here," I murmured.

With a quiet groan, she slid out of bed-but tumbled down the stairs. I bit back a laugh as others stirred.

"I'm fine," she whispered from below.

She climbed back up and curled into the bed next to me. We lay facing each other.

"I can't sleep," she said quietly.

"I can see," I chuckled.

She smiled, and after a beat. "So...got a boyfriend or girlfriend at home?"

I spat, "Nope-those homos can suck my pink dildo."

Her eyes widened. "Damn. People are really like that?"

"Just kidding."

She rolled her eyes, and we dissolved into a fit of giggles.

Suddenly, someone yelled, "Get a room!"

We went silent.

"Asshole. This is a room," I muttered, and she laughed into the pillow I flung at her.

"Let's get some rest. Big day tomorrow!"

"Why?" she asked sleepily.

"We're playing that window game-I think."

She gave an "oh" look, then wrapped her arms around me. "Night."

"Night," I whispered back.
