I woke up in bed, noticing a few people were up while others still slept. I turned to look at 240 and realized...I didn’t even know her name.

I need to ask her, I thought, but my mind was scattered—drifting from burgers to the dream of starting a music studio if I won.

     “Y/n?”

I turned to see Sae-byeok, who looked tense—her brows slightly furrowed as her eyes flicked between me and 240.

“Hey, what’s wrong? You seem upset,” I asked.

Sae-byeok’s POV

     “It’s nothing,” I lied.

My mind was spinning. What was Ji-yeong doing in Y/n’s bed? Did they kiss? Are they...together?

No. I wouldn’t let that happen. Y/n was mine. And I wasn’t going to let Ji-yeong get in the way.

Y/n called my name again, snapping me out of my thoughts. I just shrugged and walked off. I’ll deal with Ji-yeong later.

Then I saw her wake up and hug Y/n—and my stomach turned. Tsk. I’ll get rid of her if I have to.

Later, the three of us joined the line for the next game. Y/n and Ji-yeong were chatting again, like always. And my annoyance just kept building.

“Y/n, are you looking for a relationship?” Ji-yeong asked brightly.

“Actually, yeah. I’m bisexual, so I go both ways,” Y/n replied casually.

“Really? I’m a lesbian!” Ji-yeong lit up. “We’d make a cute couple, don’t you think?”

     I nearly lost it.

“Hey,” I cut in, trying to wedge myself into the conversation, “didn’t see you there.” I looked at Ji-yeong, then turned to Y/n. “Anyone in particular you like here?”

Y/n smiled, casual as ever. “I find a lot of people attractive. Being bisexual is like that.”

I forced a smile. But inside, I was panicking. So I’m not the only one she could fall for...No matter. I was going to win her over—no matter what.

Y/n’s POV

I nudged 240. Okay, time to ask. “Hey, 240! I realized I never got your name.”

She wiped fake tears from her cheeks, all dramatic. “Oh, I’m hurt you don’t know! It’s Ji-yeong,” she said with a wink.

I laughed, shaking my head. Of course it is.

We were led into a stark white room.

On the wall, vests numbered 1 to 27 hung in order.

“Pick a number. You’ll be going in order,” one of the square-masked guards said.

Everyone stood still. The air was tense.

Suddenly, someone shoved me hard, lunging for vest number one. I lost my balance and crashed against the stairs, my head hitting hard—and then, darkness.

I woke up in a black-and-gold room, lying on a massive, plush bed. The sheets were soft, expensive...unfamiliar.

I tried to sit up—and realized I was barely dressed.

     Great.

I spotted a robe on a rack nearby, quickly wrapped it around myself, and stepped into the next room.

It was filled with older men in robes and masks. My skin crawled.

Then I noticed the Front Man watching me.

A man in a black suit approached. “Ma’am, please follow me.”

     I blinked. Jun-ho.

I sat in a velvet-lined viewing box, looking down at the game floor through the glass. The game was already underway.

Suddenly, one of the glass panels below shattered as a player fell. I flinched.

“What the hell is going on?” I muttered.

The Front Man looked over. “You were knocked out before the game started. They brought you here to observe. You’ve been excused from this round.”

“Lucky me,” I said dryly, eyes still glued to the chaos below.

At one point, a creepy older man leaned in, muttering compliments I didn’t want.

I pulled away sharply. “Please leave me alone.”

Another masked man stepped in and pulled the guy away.

I sat back down, shaken but trying not to show it.

Later, Jun-ho came over to check on me.

“Would you mind pouring me some wine?” I asked, curling up on the couch and casually draping my legs over his lap.

He poured it, and I took a slow sip, leaning in just a little.

He actually looks good without the mask...

We kept talking, light and playful at first. But the tension between us shifted. Things escalated.

《After The Room Service》

Afterward, I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, still catching my breath.

“I don’t know what we are,” I said softly. “I just...I need time to figure things out.”

Jun-ho turned to me, his expression vulnerable. “I really like you...” he said.

I didn’t know how to respond. The words hung heavy in the air. I stayed quiet.

He stood, grabbed his mask, and left the room.

And I just lay there, alone, unsure of what to feel—except that everything had just changed.
