I turned around to face the girl who had jumped on me, instinctively shoving her off, thinking she was trying to attack me. She hit the ground with a loud thud.

“Owwww, my ass! Girl, you got some serious muscle!” she whined, standing up and rubbing her butt dramatically. She walked back over to us, flashing me a grin. “Sorry.”

I blinked, a little caught off guard. “It’s fine.”

“The name’s Mi-nyeo. What about you?”

     “Y/N.”

“Nice. You know,” she leaned in a little, grinning, “you could always team up with me. These guys don’t stand a chance. I’m good at everything…except the stuff I’m not good at.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. She’s funny. I grabbed her hand and pulled her into our little group. She smiled—blushing a little when I touched her, though I didn’t notice. The others, however, definitely did. A few glared daggers at her.

Gi-hun’s POV》

Why did Y/N touch her like that? I scowled. If Mi-nyeo tries anything, I’ll take care of it myself. A hand rested on my shoulder, pulling me out of my thoughts. It was the old man.

“You like her, don’t you?” he said, his eyes following Y/N.

I looked over at her. “Maybe.”

“You should make a move before someone else does. She’s got a lot of attention on her.”

Hearing that only made my blood boil more.

To distract myself, I spoke up, “Any guesses on what the next game is?”

《Y/N POV》

I shrugged. While everyone started throwing out wild guesses, I zoned out and stared at the wall. That’s when I noticed the faded images painted there—each one showing a different game.

The first image: red light, green light.

     The second: honeycomb.

“We’re playing honeycomb next,” I said, still staring at the wall.

“What?” Sang-woo asked skeptically. “How do you know that?”

“Look at the wall. The games are shown in order. The next one’s honeycomb.”

Everyone followed my gaze, murmuring in surprise.

“Damn. I’m glad we have you here,” Ali smiled. I gave him a small smile in return.

Sang-woo scoffed and walked away, sitting alone in the corner. I glanced at him—and when he looked back, I turned away quickly, feeling my cheeks heat up.

     Sang-woo noticed. He smirked.

《Later That Night》

     The guards came in.

“Lights out in ten minutes,” the square-masked man announced. His gaze stopped on me for a moment before he turned and walked out, triangles trailing behind him.

I made my way to my bed and noticed Sae-byeok lying alone nearby. I must’ve been staring too long, because she caught me. I smiled; she just stared back. I sighed and looked away.

A few moments later, I felt the edge of my bed shift. I looked up to see Sae-byeok sitting beside me.

“I’ve got a little brother too,” she said, her voice low. “He’s eight. Lives in an orphanage.”

     “I’m…I’m sorry to hear that.”

“Don’t be,” she replied, finally looking at me. “I tell him our parents will be here next year and that we’ll be a family again.” She paused. “It’s a lie. We tried escaping North Korea. My dad was killed. My mom got caught.”

I gasped, covering my mouth. Without thinking, I scooted over and hugged her tightly. “Hey…it’s gonna be okay. I promise you’ll get out of here. You’ll live happily with your brother again. I swear.”

She gave a weak smile and hugged me back—tighter than I expected.

《Lights Out》

After talking a while longer, the lights finally went out. Silence fell—until I heard yelling.

“Alright! You guys ready to hear some rain?” It was Mi-nyeo. I turned just in time to see her squatting with her pants halfway down.

“Oh my god,” I groaned, mortified. I rushed over and stopped her.

“Mi-nyeo! What are you doing?! There are cameras—you’re gonna get caught in 4k!”

She blinked. “Right. Forgot. Hahaha.” She awkwardly pulled her sweatpants back up.

I rolled my eyes and knocked on the exit door three times.

A guard opened it. “Follow me.”

Just as we were about to step out, Sae-byeok appeared. “I need to go too.”

“What the hell? You think you can just go! Even after I just did all that!?” Mi-nyeo snapped.

I grabbed her arm. “Let’s not wake everyone else, alright?”

She sighed and nodded. We all walked into the bathroom.

《In the Bathroom》

I was last to enter. I passed the triangle-masked guard, unzipping my jacket just enough to expose some cleavage. I caught him glance down.

     Gotcha.

     I winked before walking in.

Inside, I noticed smoke coming from one of the stalls and knocked. Mi-nyeo opened it, puffing on a cigarette and pointing up.

The vent was open. Sae-byeok must’ve climbed in.

Suddenly, the guard knocked. “Hurry up.”

I turned to Mi-nyeo. “I’ll create a distraction. When he comes in, he’ll check my stall first, giving her time to get out of the vent.”

     She nodded.

I stepped into a nearby stall, pulled my pants down, and sat—faking moans.

“Ohhh GOD…IT FEELS SO GOOD~” I groaned, smirking to myself.

More giggles from the stalls across me.

Then the bathroom door slammed open.

     “DAAAMM!”

     The stall door burst open.

I jumped, pulling up my pants. “DUDE!? What the HELL!”

The guard stood frozen. The others watched from their stalls, struggling not to laugh.

I stepped up close and whispered, “If you wanted to join in, you could’ve just said so~”

He spun around, clearly flustered. We walked past him and left.

《Main Room》

Back in the main room, Mi-nyeo clung to my arm.

“That was so funny!” she laughed.

I giggled with her, but Sae-byeok’s voice cut through the moment. “They’re cooking something. I didn’t see what it was, but it smelled sweet.”

“Then it’s confirmed,” I said. “It’s the honeycomb challenge tomorrow.”

They nodded, and I headed to bed.
