I walked out of my room to see Mom talking to a man at the table.

"You need breakfast before you go to school," Mom said.

"I'm going to Pop's," I said.

"Okay, see you after school, Mija," Mom said. I nodded plugging my headphones in and walking out of the Pembrooke. I walked to Pop's dinner with the smell of pancakes and syrup hitting you as you walked through the door.

"Bailey," I heard someone yell behind me. I turned to see LJ and Sweet Pea in a booth.

"Hey," I said smiling as I walked over to the pair.

"You here alone?" Sweet Pea asked.

"Yep," I said.

"Well that seat's not taken," LJ said pointing to the seat besides Sweet Pea. We looked at each other.

"I've gotta get my breakfast to go or Imma be late for school," I said.

"Of course you Northsiders are worried about school," Sweet Pea teased.

"For your information Mr. leather jacket. I don't like school but I am worried about the whooping my sister will give me if I'm late for her class," I said. He laughed.

"Mr. leather jacket?" Sweet Pea asked.

"I figured Snake boy was offensive," I said. Sweet Pea nodded. "I'll work on that. In the meantime what do you recommend for breakfast?" I asked.

"My favorite is the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel," Sweet Pea said.

"Crepes with chocolate syrup, strawberries and bananas," LJ said.

"Hmm, I think I'll get both," I said. "Anyways I should get going. I'll see you tomorrow,"

"Bye Bailey," LJ and Sweet Pea said. I walked to the counter.

"Bailey what can I get you?" Pop asked.

"Morning Pop. Can I have a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel with crepes, chocolate syrup, strawberries and bananas, and whatever Jade's usual breakfast is please?" I said.

"Sure, anything else?" Pop asked.

"I'd like to pay for the table in the corners meals too," I said.

"Of course," Pop said.

"Thanks, Pop," I said.

Timeskip

I walked into class.

"Bailey, you're late," Jade said.

"I know but I brought you breakfast and your favorite coffee," I said.

"I would ask you if you have your homework but I know you don't so stay behind after class," Jade told me as I walked to my seat. I walked back to her desk and looked through my bag finding my homework and dropping it on her desk. "Thank you,"
