My music exam went cool, btw. Got A* so am kinda happity happy lol

Anyways, ENJOYYY ~

I was shaking. Literally. As my feet dragged me closer and closer to the house where my mother inhabits, my eyes were flitting around our front porch in alarm; there could be traps, or the said person herself, hiding, lurking, waiting.

The keys jingled in my fingers as I grasped them tightly with each step I took, and as I lifted my hand to insert them into the keyhole, I took a deep breath.

Not a good thing, because just as I was doing that, the door slammed open with a loud bang and I choked on air.
There she stood, my mother in all her glory, dark curls swishing wildly around her as her eyes flashed. Believe it or not, my mother is as badass as a mum can be, despite how terrifying she looks right now.

"Get in." Her voice was soft and calm, and briefly reminded me of Mrs Shanks earlier today. I gulped. No wonder they were so close.

With my eyes glued to the floor, I took tentative steps inside, past my mother who regarded me with fury, and into our spacious living room, collapsing in our couch; once mum stormed back in, I stood up abruptly and decided to stand.

"Oh take a seat, take a seat. This will take some time," she smiled bitterly, her eyes piercing.
Gulping, I complied. My fingers intertwined and untangled, and fumbled, until I became annoyed with my hands and folded then tightly.

Daring a glance towards the small figure of my mum, who's aura was dark and terrifying, I saw her arms folded as she stood there, assessing me with her bright eyes.

The silence was drowning me, and I took a deep breath to get this over and done with.

"Mum, I'm so-"

"Please explain to me," she began, ignoring my lame start, "Why, while I was in the middle of shopping, Mrs Shanks phoned, telling me you are moving schools after assaulting a member of public, physically, and then after she bailed you out of jail, you verbally assaulted her in the face!?"

"Well," I started, and glanced towards her, a sign as if to say, 'Am I supposed to answer?' She stiffly nodded at me to go on, and I launched into my story.

Well, most of it, because I missed out the part about Green Man.

All the while, my guardian was listening intently, her expression unreadably neutral; and once I was done, a heavy silence sat itself right in the middle of our living room, the bastard.

After a few moments, Mum spoke up.
"I don't agree with you and new your tactics of dealing with situations."
A pause.
"But who am I to say that, that would make me a hypocrite."
Her beautiful facial features broke out into a full blown grin, and her eyes twinkled in amusement as mine were wide as a frog's.

"You kicked ass, kiddo."

My own lips curled up in relief, and I felt a rush of butterflies flying away from my stomach.

"Mum! You scared me to death!" I laughed, though stopped when Mum's smile dropped and she walked over to our laptop on the coffee table in front of me.

"That's not what I'm angry about, Xenia," she continued and her eyes clouded over again.

"What really disturbs me, is that Louise has sent you to a delinquent school."

I took that in, and put my arm on her shoulder in reassurance as I thought about it;
"It's not that bad, at least I can learn some more discipline, I'm sure it's more stricter than other schools, so that's a benefit...Mum?"
