''You okay baby'' Marinette asked as Hugo came and sat between her and Caleb. ''Mommy did I kill my uncle'' Hugo asked playing with his fingers. Adrien mentally facepalmed as he realized Hugo had overheard his conversation. 

''The cat man said It was my fault, I-I didn't mean t-to'' He cried loudly. And Marinette was angry at Adrien but she felt sorry for her son ''Everyone hates me'' The small boy wept bitterly.''I love you a-and I always will, it's not your fault Hugo don't listen to him okay, do you wanna go by grandpubba today'' Mari asked as tears gathered in her eyes... Adrien felt terrible but Hugo nodded so Caleb took Hugo upstairs to get ready. ''Mari-'' 

Adrien stopped as she broke down and cried. ''Adrien why do you hate us so much'' She wept. ''Haven't you done enough already when will this stop, why can't we be a family, There is so only so much I can take!'' Quickly getting up Marinette got dressed and quickly took her son to Gabriel's house.

An hour later

''C-Can I ask you something'' Mari asked as Hugo ran outside hiding from Natalie as they were playing hide and seek. ''Yeah what's wrong'' He asked sitting next to her. ''Why does Adrien hate children'' Marinette asked. ''Ever since I got pregnant he hated me, I did everything I could to make it right with him and it never works, he doesn't even try to make it better either. He blamed Hugo for Christian's passing and Hugo heard Chat talking about it and now he says everyone hates him and I-I don't know what to do''

Gabriel sighed and she sighed also.''When Adrien was three years old his mother passed away and I blamed him for her passing because something went wrong while she was giving birth and she suffered for three years before passing. So after her funeral, I completely shut Adrien off and Natalie raised him. When he grew older he just stopped trying and left and joined the army that's when I realized I was being too hard on him for something he didn't do, so he shut me out when I tried to apologize, so I've been trying to get to him ever since but he doesn't want to open up to me, that's my loss I messed up so now I have to suffer the consequences.'' Marinette was confused, sad, angry but she just held it in as she always does. 

''Okay, thanks for telling me'' Mari got up and sneaked up behind Hugo and picked him up, and twirled him around. ''So what do you want for your birthday this year'' Gabriel asked. ''Uhm, a dog, or a baby sister'' Hugo replied as his mother let him go. Hugo said as he jumped on the trampoline. ''Well Mommy has some work to do'' Gabriel responded with a chuckle as Marinette just stayed quiet. ''But I want a dad first, so my baby sister can have a dad, I don't want her without a dad'' Hugo added. ''You will be a great big brother Hugo.'' Gabriel chuckled as Marinette just smiled proudly watching her son.

After some hours they both made their way back home and got ready for bed.

Adrien was sitting on the sofa with his head in his hands before Hugo came and sat next to him. ''Do you have a dad'' Hugo asked and Adrien looked at him closely as Mari walked in. ''Yes,'' Adrien responded. ''Does he love you'' Hugo asked again. ''Why do you ask me so many questions, I'm not Alexa or Siri!'' Adrien yelled Mari took Hugo's hand and led him to his room. ''Adrien don't yell at my kid'' She shot back walking back to him. ''Tell your kid to stop asking me so many questions'' Adrien shot back. 

''He wouldn't be asking if you had been a good father'' Marinette yelled. ''Again with this,'' He rolled his eyes. ''Adrien he is your son why cant you have a conversation with him'' Mari asked sobbing. ''Y-You just shut him out, he needs you'' Paxton walked in on them arguing and Adrien groaned. ''Not everyone needs a father Marinette you and I grew up just fine without them.'' He shot back. ''I had a mother to raise me'' Marinette yelled. ''So because you had a mother means you were raised better than me'' Adrien shot back.

''That's not what I said'' She shot back and he scoffed. ''You know maybe if you just moved on we wouldn't be in this mess'' She shot back angrily. ''Adrien your mom is gone okay just move on Hugo needs you-'' ''Don't talk about my mother Marinette, I don't talk about yours'' He shot up from the chair yelling back. ''Chat, I'm not going to die, I'm fine you can stop now, I'm sorry about your mom but-'' ''Marinette shut the fuck up'' he yelled inches from her face. ''It's not fair, Hugo needs his dad. I-I need you.'' Mari sobbed as she stood in front of him. His heart softened and he wanted to cry but was interrupted. 

''Mommy, are you okay'' Hugo asked peeking at them from behind a wall. ''Yeah baby Mommy is great, come on bedtime my little kitten.'' she kissed his cheek and walked off. 

Adrien missed her being his girlfriend, her smile, her giggles, their kisses, just holding her hand, cuddling together, so he planned to change for the better...
