''Morning Momma'' Hugo said cheerily as he walked into the kitchen. ''Hi, mister'' he greeted Adrien. ''Hi,'' he responded. ''Why are you always here'' Hugo asked as Mari helped him up on the chair. ''Maybe because this is my house'' Adrien responded with a slight chuckle. ''Oh, you have a nice house, My grandpa has a big house too, do you a baby'' Hugo asked playing with a blueberry on the island.

Mari looked at him waiting for his answer and he didn't know how to reply. ''Uhm'' He stuttered. ''No baby, come on'' Mari helped him down and took his breakfast, and led him outside to the patio.

''God, what am I doing'' Adrien questioned himself as he rested his forehead on the counter. ''Maybe you should try being a father It's not that hard and Hugo is a good kid and he has a great mother soon enough he will need a father,'' Christian said walking into the kitchen.

''That's easy for you to say, I doubt she will forgive me anyway'' Adrien replied. ''Adrien promise me that you won't abandon the kid his whole life, you know what that feels like and it's not a nice feeling'' Adrien nodded and Chris patted his back and walked off.

''Hey, Mari'' Adrien called as he walked out to them a few minutes later. ''Yeah,'' she said after wiping the milk off Hugo's face. ''Uhm your dad is having a get-together to celebrate his anniversary and he asked for all of us to go'' Adrien notified sitting next to her.

''I thought you don't want me to take Hugo out'' Marinette replied as Hugo just sat between them rocking his legs back and forth. ''Yeah, but the guys will be there for safety reasons and I already made you miss her funeral and he kinda insisted,'' Adrien said as Hugo painted a bright smile on his face.

''Oh Okay, well you know you have to dress up right so uhm'' She giggled. ''Either way, I'll still look hot so yeah I'm still coming'' He smirked before walking off. Mari smiled and got her iPad to order their outfits.

''Adrien here'' Marinette gave him the outfit and he stared at it. ''You were serious'' He asked and she nodded. ''I thought you were just trying to get me to stay home'' He whined. ''Nope put it on'' she said before walking away.

''Momma I look fat'' Hugo whined as he shot her a pout. ''Baby you look grown'' Mari snickered as Adrien walked down the stairs in his outfit. ''What'' he asked twirling. ''Nothing you ready'' she replied holding Hugo as the boys came upstairs with black outfits. Some of them even carried guns before they walked out of the house.

''Alright let's go'' Christian swopped up Hugo and placed him on his shoulder and walked outside.

''Hey Hugo how do you like the best'' Chris asked. ''Uhm you'' Hugo smiled. ''Told you'' Chris boasted as Paxton rolled his eyes.

''Hi Grandpa'' Hugo yelled jumping into his arms. ''Wow, you got bigger, look at my little man'' He replied. ''Hi Dad'' Marinette kissed his cheek. ''Great to see you, Mari, Adrien'' Tom said picking up Hugo. ''Hey,'' he replied nervously. ''Come on, let's go meet your aunts and uncles'' Mari took Hugo from him and walked away.

After a few minutes, Hugo went off to play with Christian, and Marinette, Adrien, Caleb, and Tom stood together as everyone else chatted. ''Hey, Max how's it looking'' Chat answered his phone and spoke up as everyone could hear.

''Not good, There is a sniper on the roof and it's Nathaniel and they'' Adrien cursed internally before Marinette ran around frantically calling Hugo as he was nowhere to be seen.

After Christian realized what was happening he picked up Hugo hugging him close to him before a shot went off. Panicked screams were blared across the yard as Marinette froze as she saw Christian sheltering Hugo.

Adrien's eyes widen in shock and he ran over to them as the guys went after the man. Hugo was frozen as Chris fell to the side of him with a bullet wound to his chest as blood covered his clothes. Blood gushed out the side of his mouth and Paxton swooped Hugo up and took Marinette and him back to the car where he took them to Adrien's home.

LATER THAT NIGHT

Marinette sat down in the living room where the others were, Her skin was pale and her body was trembling. ''How is Hugo'' Devante asked. ''H-He is asleep, I-I think he will be fine'' Marinette responded. Adrien scoffed. ''I told you not to bring the kid here'' He replied. ''Adrien not now'' Paxton said.

''Well if he wasn't here Christian wouldn't be dead, since Nathaniel found out she has a kid he's gonna try everything to get to me'' ''Adrien I'm sorry Okay'' Marinette sobbed. ''Sorry isn't going to fix anything Marinette, you can be my guest and go tell his wife and daughter that, or maybe explain to his unborn kid that she's gonna grow up without a father.''

''I didn't know he had kids'' Marinette whispered. ''Of course, you didn't he was busy protecting yours you didn't even bother to ask.'' ''Why are you putting this on me and Hugo, Adrien it happened already I can't fix it, and neither can him, You should have been there for Hugo instead of pinning this on him. it's not his fault and I am sorry about what happened to Christian-'' ''Why are you acting like you care so much'' Adrien asked.

''Because he has been a better father than you have ever been or ever will be, he thought Hugo half the things he knows and is the only reason I am here right now, If you can't take responsibility for your mistake don't blame it on someone else, he is two years old Adrien someone died in front of him, someone he loved and this is the only thing you have to say''

''M-Momma'' Hugo whispered. She sighed. ''Yes, baby'' His mother replied. ''I-I can't sleep'' he responded sobbing. ''Oh baby, Come on, you can sleep with me, okay everything is fine,'' He hugged her neck tightly and cried as she took him upstairs to her room and snuggled him on her bed.
