Amala's POV

Having a celebrity as your brother isn't easy especially when girls you don't even like trying to be friends just to get closer to them.

Whenever I tell Yella about it he just laughs it off like it's not that serious.

Right now I'm in math class doing a test bursting my brain out to solve the problem. I'm the only one who hasn't brought it up yet and my friends are slowly disappearing well at least my main girl Deena ain't left yet.

She stood by the classroom door waiting on me. I made eye contact with her she began mouthing something to me and I'm very good at reading lips.

I nodded at her and got up out of my chair and turned in my paper then striding out of class as fast as I could so even if the teacher called me back I'll be alright gone.

Deena and I sprinted out of school but stopped when we got around the corner. "Girl I almost lost my breath." Deena wheezed as I began cackling.

"Amala is that you?" I hear a familiar voice yell from 10 down from us. Tiana is her name. She was a groupie at one of my brother's concerts and after hitting it he dipped on her but I guess the dick was too good she became hooked on him.

Yella has been avoiding her at all cost so that's why she's bugging me now.

"It's that desperate bitch Tiana don't turn around," Deena informed me with her back face to the girl, and my back is turned.

"She gon know it's me if you're here with me, dee she knows our routine now," I whispered to her as Tiana approached us.

"Hey Deena you look simple as always," she smirked at Deena as I turned around to look at her.

Deena scowled at her as Tiana turned to me.

"Have you seen your brother lately? He hasn't been answering any of my calls or voicemails." She asked while blinking at me.

"Because you're a thot." Deena coughs and I look at her while trying to hold in my laugh.

"Excuse me?" Tiana asked getting defensive and I cut in.

"He's been busy at the studio you know how producers are." I lied.

"Oh okay well tell him that I'll be at his next concert." She giggled before strutting past us.

I looked at Deena and she had a stink face. "You smell something?" She asked looking at Tiana.

"She's out of control." I chuckled while putting my arm around Dee's neck.

"I want some McDonald's," Deena grunts while rubbing her stomach.

"Me too let's go." I agreed and we walked all the way there burning some calories then gaining it right back as we ordered a big Mac, a side of large fries, and a coke.

"When you gon tell Yella about those bars you got?" Deena asked resting her chin in her hand.

"Probably today when we get to the studio. My mother's working late plus today's Friday so I can sleep over." I smiled before grabbing a napkin from our table and wiping the crumbs off my mouth.

I paid our bill and we left for the studio. As we walked out of McDonald's a police car pulled up, winding its window down. It was my stepdad in his formal uniform but had on sunglasses.

He lowered his glasses eyeing me down. "If it's mom checking on me tell her I'm fine and I'll be at the studio with Yella and 'em," I Informed before turning to walk away.

"I don't like when you hang with those boys they're gang members." He said and I turned on my heel.

"Richard this shit again? You need to stop stereotyping them. Yella told me about one of your partners attacking him not to mention o'shea almost getting shot?!" I snapped at him and walked away with Deena.

"He's a real asshole what does your mom see in him anyways?" Deena asked looking back at him in disgust.

"She doesn't know a thing about what he's doing. When he's at home he is the sweetest but as soon as he leaves for work. A completely different person." I said turning into the street of the studio.

I knocked two times first before stepping inside and seeing them crowded around the equipment. "Hey, robot girl." Lorenzo greeted me with my nickname. They call me that because of how I dance most of the time.

I love dancing like Michael Jackson when he does that robot dance and moonwalk but the moonwalk is my favorite one though.

"Hey, Eric." I chimed while walking towards him.

He looked up from what he was doing and hugged me. The hug lasted a while and Yella tapped his back to get him off me.

"Your boobs are getting comfortable. " He winked and got back to what he was doing.

I turned around to look for Dee and she was on her man's lap. She and O'shea have been a thing for 5 years now. I haven't found my soul mate yet but it's okay because I know I have a true friend. Eric.

He believes in me when Yella doesn't want to hear me out. He's seen and heard my work. He also promised me that one of these days he'll let me spit some bars but I can't wait for that. I need my voice to be heard.

"Check one, check two can you hear me? Okay, I can hear you too." I said through the microphone.

Everyone looked in my direction. Yella looked pissed and burst into the booth snatching the headphones off my head and I giggled then ran away.

"You think this shit funny huh? Wait till I tell your mom." He threatened and I scoffed.

"You're a daredevil you know that?" Eric said while walking towards me.

"No, I'm not." I playfully denied it.

"Don't listen to Yella ya hear me? Meet Dre and me at the studio tomorrow so we can hear what you got." He said and I nodded in agreement.

"Aiite bet."
