Mary Jenkins's POV

"Alright, I can do this." I took a deep breath in and slapped some sense of confidence into me as I looked into the mirror before I left the hotel room.

I was still nerve-wracked, after all, I don't know what are the danger that lurks around meeting this stranger who is going to provide me with the vital information that I need to prosecute the Gambit's empire and of course, the leader of the Gambit Empire, the Mafia King - Serpente. Nobody knows his real name, he is one secretive criminal that is so hard for justice to lay its hands on.

This is also why it wasn't surprising to know that he has cleverly outsourced his drug empire to his god-son to take care of, making it even harder for the international police to bring down this criminal syndicate. Some say it's because age is catching up for Serpente, so he had brilliantly crafted his retirement plan by pinning hopes on his god-son to continue his legacy.

His god-son is yet another character shrouded in mystery, outrunning the laws of justice. Not many actually know how he looks like, not even the members in the higher hierarchy of the Gambit empire. He wore a half-mask since his teenage years, most believed it was because he was disfigured, while some had other take about it. For whatever reasons it may be, the ferocity of his capability behind this half mask had earned him the reputation of a Phantom. Serpente is the Mafia King of the Gambit Empire, while Phantom is the Drug Lord of the Gambit Empire.

They said he was single-handedly brought up by Serpente himself, that his god-son was the prodigy masterpiece of his lifetime work, a very capable man, it's a pity that his capability is spent on wrongdoings.

Now that someone out of nowhere is providing me with the key to bring down the Gambit Empire, it just simply sounds too good to be true. Somewhere deep in my guts have an uneasy feeling about this.

As I walked down the pebbled street of Sicily, I couldn't help having my breath taken away by the beautiful scenic view of the city. A beautiful city that is plagued with crimes beneath it, what a paradox.

I pulled out a seat at the patio of a cafe which the meeting was arranged at. I was surprised that this spot was not a sleazy shady spot that I expected a secretive meeting to be at, in fact the beautiful splash of warmth from the golden hour of sunset unwinded all the tension in me.

I sat down and tapped away at the table, sipping away on a cup of Italian coffee in my hand. For a moment, the aroma of the brewed coffee coupled with the scenic surroundings made me forget all about what I was supposedly here for.

If only Sean could be here to enjoy this moment with me... If only he was still the old Sean that I used to know.

That cosy thought that I was immersed in suddenly vanished when a tall clad man in a casual suit pulled a chair at my table and sat down across to me without my consent.

My heart skipped a beat and my eyes widened at this unexpected presence of a drop-dead gorgeous man in front of me. He was at least 6.5ft tall with a muscular built, the bulge of his shoulders and his arms were prominently evident. His chest was a thick slab of muscles. His deep-set of green eyes glistened under the spill of sunlight, his strong jawline was peppered with stubbles, his appealing facial features were confidently presented with his luscious brown hair combed back neatly in a sleek manner.

Oh god! This is one hell of a gorgeous man!

Oh, wait... shit... how could I even salivate at the sight of another man other than Sean?! I need to stop this shameless thought.

"Excuse me," Before I could even finish my sentence, it was interrupted by his deep manly velvety voice, "Bellissimo".

I frowned in bewilderment at what I just heard. Luckily I took a crash course in Italian language back in college, so I knew he meant "beautiful".
