*At the Interpol's office in Sicily*

Mary Jenkins's POV

"Mary, good news, we have finally found the nest of the Gambit Empire's cash flow. These are evidence of how all these multiple transactions from Viktor could all be eventually traced to one final destination account. It's a brilliant money laundering technique, took us a great deal to track it down, but these should be enough to freeze up their cashflow. The rest is on you now," Nick explained to me as he pulled sheets of data.

"That's great, with all these evidence of their committed crimes that I have accumulated so far, it would be more than enough to put their account under investigation. I shall file them over to the court now. Thank you, Nick, thank you so much..." I was in high spirits at the groundbreaking move we made.

"Well, you had a long day, we should call it a day now. It's not like the Gambit Empire are going anywhere soon," Nick said.

Upon Nick's reminder, I felt my shoulders alleviated from the pile of heaviness that was building up on me ever since we reached Sicily days ago.

"I guess you're right," I stretched myself and reclined in my chair as I let myself loose at this moment.

Nick stood up and hesitated for a while before asking me, "Let's go for dinner, shall we?"

I fiddled the pen in my hand for a while as I struggled to decide if I should. However, before I could even respond, Cheryl came popping into our office at the door.

"Nick!! So is the team going to get our hard work rewarded with dinner tonight?" She chirped in her forever-bubbly persona.

I still don't like her a single bit.

"It's still worktime you know?" Nick gave her an annoyed look.

"Oops," Cheryl smacked her own lips and proceeded to salute at Nick, "Sorry, Sir!"

"I think you do owe them dinner, go ahead, Nick," I convinced Nick.

"Why don't you join us too?" Nick asked.

"It's okay, I think I will just grab something simple since there is still so much to do on my end," I cooked up a convenient excuse off the top of my head.

"Okay, you take care of yourself, alright?" A look of dismay hung over on Nick before he turned and left.

I heaved a sigh of relief upon their departure.

I decided to take a walk outside and get some fresh air. After all, I haven't really had the chance to enjoy Sicily.

"I guess I could do some carnival time," I thought to myself as I looked at the carnival that was not too far from the window's view of my office.

*At the Carnival*

"Gioco di tiro!" A man shouted at me as he gestured me over to his game booth.

"Shooting game! Win prizes!" The man shouted over to me once more in English. I guess it didn't take him long to realise I was a foreigner.

"Alright, here goes nothing," I handed the money over to him and picked up the toy pistol.

I squinted my eye hard as I tried to aim for the balloon to the cute looking teddy bear. Three shots passed, yet I had no luck in getting close to any of it.

I sighed heavily in defeat.

Just as I was about to lower the toy pistol in my hand and give up, a strong arm stuck out from behind me. Before I could even turn around to the abrupt presence of this towering man, he already had my hand in his as he pressed down on my finger along with the trigger in such a steadfast manner, bursting a row of balloons within split seconds.
