Lynn's Prov
"Welcome to the town of Silver Creek." My stepfather said as we passed a sign that said welcome to our town. "Dad are you sure you can put up with me being in an enclosed yard?" I asked my stepfather. "Don't worry there will be a fence to separate our yard from everyone elses yard." He said reassuringly.
We drove the rest of the way to the house he had bought in total silence. Watching the trees pass by I had a funny feeling that something isn't right. Loud howls erupted from the forest on both sides of the road. My attention was immediately caught by a pack of wolves trying to out run our truck.
I smiled at the pups that were competing with the adults. It was almost like they came to a dead end or something. They all stopped and turned tail anx went back the way they came. "Lynn I want you to be careful in this town okay. Oh and here take this can of pepper spray." He said while handing me a large can of pepper spray. "Dad I don't think..." He cut me off saying, "It'll give me a piece of mind." Sighing in defet i took the can and put it in my camouflage purse.
We pulled up to a beautiful minty blue two story house. My stepfather chuckled when he say my reaction. "I knew you would like it sweetheart." He said. I gave him a side hug and went inside to pick out the room that I wanted upstairs. The room I picked had royal blue walls with white flowers. "This the room you want sweetheart?" He asked me. I nodded my head yes and took the boxes he had in his hands and sat them on the bed that was there.
"Lynn I'll be back in about six hours okay." He yelled up the stairs as i nearly got my room the way i wanted it. "Okay dad!" I shouted back. When he left I unpacked all my stuff and put it up where they belong. When I was finished pulled out my cell phone and checked the time 6:39.
Heading down stairs to the kitchen to make supper for the two of us. My mother was killed in a cross fire between two gangs that were after each other. So my stepfather is the only family that I have left in this world. I don't know what I would of done without him.
"I'm home sweetheart!" My stepfather yells as he walked in the door. "You have time for a shower dad!" I called back. With that he went to his room which is three rooms down from the kitchen. About ten minutes later we are eating our baked tacos. Just incase you don't know there is a difference between regular tacos and baked tacos. We watched the movie "Maze Runner" before we said good night.
I walk into my room to find my window by my bed open. I close and locked it before loading my bb guns and preparing my steel ball bat. Hey who can blame me for not taking precautions someone could of came in. "You have exactly three seconds to come out of your hiding spot and leave my house." I said my words laced with venom. Going through every nook and crany I couldn't find anyone.
Plugging in two night lights in different areas of my room i turned out the light and got into bed. Sleep didn't come like I thought it would. Plus I had a feeling that something wasn't quite right. I got up ad looked out the window but didn't see anything. Shrugging it off i layed back in bed.
The sound of glass shattering woke me with a start. Thinking something is happening I grabbed by bat and raced down the stairs only to find my stepfather cleaning up a destroyed glass cup. "Morning to you too dad." I said sarcastically. "Morning sweetheart. How did you sleep?" He asked. "Okay and you?" I asked him back. "Slept like a baby." Haha I bet he did he always sleeps like a rock.
