{Scarlett's Point of View}
I let out a whimper of happiness as I pulled the car into the pack driveway. I parked the car and turned it off, turning to Keirstan and shaking her softly to wake her up. She took a deep breath and stretched, groaning. As much as I hated waking her up, I wasn't going to carry her to where my daughter was if she could still walk.
"Hhnn?"
I chuckled softly at her question, but motioned towards the pack house. Her gaze widened when she noticed where we were.
"We made it home, little one."
A grunt was my answer as I stretched in my seat.
"Tell ya what, go get someone to send out here to help me with our stuff, and then go be with your mate."
A raised eyebrow was sent my way. I returned the eyebrow, but waved my hand in a shooing motion at her.
"I am sure. Now go get me someone to help and we will get the bags to the right rooms. I would hate to be this close to my mate and not be able to go see him."
I knew her mate was a woman, but I was straight, so my mate would have been a man. It wasn't that I was against my mate being a woman, but I hadn't met a woman I was attracted to.
Keirstan yawned wide, her jaw popping as she did so. She then reached into the center console to grab her phone that had been charging and looked directly at me, her gaze cautiously soft.
"Are you sure? A few more minutes won't kill me."
I shook my head, leaning over to unbuckle her, open her door, and started pushing her out of the car.
"Go! But send me help!"
I laughed as she flailed dramatically at my pushing her but got out of the car and bent down to look at me.
"Thank you, Scarlett. After this heat is over, we will set out for the last location and shut them down."
I nodded resolutely, moving my hands to shoo her away, chuckling as she stuck her tongue out at me, jogging towards the house. I waited a few minutes until she got into the house before I got out of the car and began to unload our bags. It wasn't many, but I didn't want to take more trips than I absolutely had to. I had just pulled the last bag out of the car when a male werewolf came to stand next to the car and cleared his throat shyly.
I smiled warmly at him, and noticed that he looked nervous. Clearing my throat, I used my hands to show him the bags.
"These two belong to Keirstan, and this giant one is mine. I can carry mine if you want to carry hers...?"
I trailed off, hoping that he understood that I wanted to know his name so I could thank him for his help. Thankfully, he did understand.
"Alastair, madam."
Ah, he was one of the Scottish wolves in the pack, his red hair and freckles giving him away as much as his accent. I knew Octavia's pack was diverse, but jeez, they really came from all over. I bowed my head in greeting, smiling warmly.
"My name is Scarlett. I was not around long enough when Keirstan, Guinevere and I first arrived to do proper introductions. It is nice to meet you, Alastair. Thank you for helping me with our bags."
