{Octavia's Point of View}
I felt my blood run cold when Guinevere looked directly at me. She was almost a carbon copy of myself, and pride filled me. I puffed my chest and wagged my tail lightly. My warriors growled softly behind me, and I knew they felt the same thing I did. The woman on the table was my daughter, but there was also something else there, just beneath the surface.
I wanted to turn on my warriors and set them straight, but we just watched her crush a man with her bare hand without touching him. She was certainly capable of way more than we would ever be. My warriors and I stiffened as Guinevere climbed off of the table and started walking towards us. We didn't dare move, and when my wives started to step forward, I snarled at them, two of my warriors coming forward to stand in front of them, blocking their way.
Hell, I wanted to run to Guinevere too, but I wasn't sure what the entity within her would do if it felt threatened by us running up on her. As she stepped closer, I stepped forward and shifted into my human form. I felt eyes on my naked body, but ignored them as my daughter and I stared at each other. I took another step and then Guinevere stepped in front of me.
"Mother."
Guinevere spoke again, but there was another voice mixed with hers that sounded almost ethereal. For a moment, I didn't say anything, too overcome by emotion to say anything. When I felt I could speak my voice was still unsteady.
"Yes, I am your mother. The mother that carried you is Janessa."
I moved my hand slowly to point open palmed at my vampire wife. The woman in question took one step forward, my warrior still keeping her from standing too closer to out daughter. When I mentioned my vampire with, Guinevere's attention turned to her and Janessa began to sob openly,
"My beautiful daughter...."
I watched Guinevere's nostrils flare as she stared at Janessa. There was emotion in her eyes, but I wasn't able to read it. Guinevere opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Her silence soon turned to pained screaming as her hands went to her head and she dropped to her knees. Without caring about the consequences, I rushed to my daughter, Janessa, Scarlett, Winifred, and one of the other robed figures since she were at her side in moments.
I wrapped my arms around my daughter and pulled her to my chest, trying to soothe her screeching. Her body shook as she pressed into me, her screeching starting to come to a stop, changing into soft sobs. Her hands clenched into fists against my bare skin, her tears rolling down my chest. I continued to rub her back, my wives joining me in rubbing her back. The robed figure tried to pull my daughter from me and I snarled at her, baring my elongated fangs at her.
The hooded figure removed their hood and it took me a few minutes to realize that the woman was the same red headed demon woman that had taken care of me when I had been missing in Germany. Regardless if my recognizing her, I continued to snarl at her, my wolf begging to be set loose. A deep growl escaped my throat when she growled back at me, her demon ears flattening in anger. Janessa started to scoot between Guinevere and the demon, her own fangs bared on a loud hissed growl.
I continued to bare my own fangs at her and growled deep within my chest at this woman. How dare she think I'm going to give my daughter to someone else after I just got her back. Especially after all these years. And certainly not to a complete stranger. My attention went back to my daughter as she started groaning against my chest. Within a few moments, she was sleeping soundly against my chest, snoring gently. Without a word and a nod to my wives, I picked out daughter up in a bridal carry and began to head away from the carnage behind us. My wolves stood close to me, a wall between my family and the world around us.
