A/N didn't care for these mission(s) so I'ma skip to chapter 9 when they leave for Alltissia so we can get to the good stuff :/ Also slight trigger warning: A lot of internal conflicts so be warned of the negative thoughts//
Entering the docks they met with Iris, Talcott, and Cor?! It seems that the marshall decided to give his goodbyes before the group left for the boat.
Cor stopped Noctis to tell him something of importance, the others waited to hear what he had to say.
"I'm sorry... Sorry I wasn't there for your father. I swore an oath to protect the king but I wasn't strong enough to uphold it." Cor solemnly stated with his head bowed towards the new king. The room was silent feeling the weight of his words. Just then another person walks in, "Aint nothing nobody could've done to stop what happened." A tired Cid made his way to a couch on the other side of them. Noctis nodded his head in understanding, "Yeah I get that."
"But you need to realize what you mean to the ones by your side." Cid continued "Even if they can't solve your problems, you can't hide what's going on from them. It hurts like hell... Remember those aren't your bodyguards, they are your family. Trust them always." Noctis softy smiled at Cid's kind words, the others seemed to stand a little taller happy as well.
Just as they were going to depart Cor stopped them once again, "(Yn) one moment, I have something for you." The others turned with the said girl as she walked forward towards her old mentor. The marshall looked down at her a serious expression on his features, " I am sorry for your father. He was... my friend and I weren't able to save him either." (Yn) bit the inside of her cheek to prevent her eyes from watering. She never really got to properly grieve for her father's death, and now just bringing it up made her heartache. She shook her head to keep strong but Cor could see it in her eyes. Sighing he turned his back to the tall object that was covered in a grey cloth. The thing was at least 6'8 tall, almost the same height as Cor himself (he's 6'3 yo). The man stood next to the mystery object as he turned back towards the waiting girl.
"Many of the buildings were burned or destroyed, this includes House Lennox. Before I left the city I ran there to get this by your father's request." The others stood in shock of this news, (Yn) most of all. Did her father leave something for her? When he pulled the black rope that held the cloth in place, it loosened and fell to the ground. Revealing a great swordspear, one that even Cid himself recognized.
The group gasped at its magnificence while (Yn) had clasped her hands together. Cor held the weapon in front of him, "This is Leto, the Moon Singer . Your family heirloom, (Yn). Passed down to each head of House Lennox. Your father wielded it and now it is yours." (Yn) felt a sense of honor and sorrow overflow her being. She was greatly honored by her father's gift but also devastated. This meant she was truly the last of her people and in truth, she didn't feel worthy of such a thing. A gloved hand was placed on her shoulder, breaking her from her thoughts she looked to the side to see Ignis gently smiling at her, knowing her thoughts. She then saw Prompto, Gladios, and finally, Noctis giving their smiles of approval. Macko nudged her side, making her look down at him. Meeting each other's gaze she felt her eyes water.
