**Next Morning: Galden Quay**

Noctis awoke to find Prompto and Gladios already up. Getting out of bed he began to stretch his arms and back, letting out a few groans and a yawn.

" *yawn* hey. Where's Specs?"

Gladios answered, "Should be back any minute now."

Noctis nodded before going to the restroom.

The door to the room opened to reveal a rather somber looking Ignis. Entering the room his eye's caught onto the site of the young prince. Gladios quickly made his way to the bespectacled man waiting for what he had to say. The door closed behind him, the room became silent.

"What's that look for?" Questioned Noctis as he noticed Ignis holding a newspaper.

Ignis was hesitant to answer, Gladios held out his hand to him. "It's in all the papers." He finally said giving it to Gladios who started to look it over.

Confusion made its way onto Noctis's face, "What is?"

Gladios held the paper higher as his eyes ran over its contents. Prompto looked over the taller man's arm.

"Insomnia...Falls?"

"What?!" Gasped Noctis, his brow furrowed into shock. "Is this your idea of a joke?"

Ignis spoke up before Noctis could continue, "I need you to calm down so I can explain."

The enraged Prince walked to him, "I am as calm as I'm gonna get."

Ignis forced out his words, "There was an attack. The Imperial army has taken the crown city."

Gladios began to read an excerpt from the paper, "As treaty rooms tempers flared, blasts lit the night sky. When the smoke about the citadel cleared, the king was found dead."

Noctis hung his head, "No wait hold on?!"

"We had no way of knowing.." Ignis sighed. Noctis looked to him in disbelief, "What? Knowing What!?"

Ignis looked back to the distressed prince, "That the signing was last night."

Noctis began to argue with Ignis, about the wedding and the treaty. In the end, however, the news didn't change.

The city fell

"What else do we know?" Gladios asked Ignis to which he replied with a head shake. Gladios thought for a moment before finally saying, "well then we can't be sure until we see it with our own eyes."

Prompto looked up to the taller men, "And that means we go back to Insomnia." Ignis retorted, "It might not be safe for us there." Prompto stepped forward as he insisted, "It might not be safe for us here."

The room fell silent once again, causing the four to silently debate on what to do. "Turn back?" Gladios asked as he looked to the three. The prince lifted his head to his friend's determination in his eye's, "Yeah."

The ride back to the city was nerve-racking. No one knew what to expect, what to do... The beautiful landscapes they were passing did nothing to ease their troubling minds. The skies were no longer clear blue, but grey with the storm clouds promising rain.

It was silent for the umpteenth time today. Prompto who was currently looking outside his window began to think of his friends that resided within the city. His thoughts of the king, citizens, his family, along with (Yn) and Macko.

'(Yn)....Macko..' He mused in his head.

"I hope everyone is ok.." Prompto thought out loud as he kept his gaze outside.
