At the end of the day, Axel had gone to give her the drink of squash so even if he had gone into one of the other rooms first, he must have ended up at the right door eventually. So in theory, it made the most sense to go into the granny's room.
Nelson led the way.
Outside her door he knocked twice, both times lightly just in case.
"Don't think anyone is gonna hear that dude." Morgan scoffed.
Amy turned to Morgan and folded her arms, "well what else do you expect my brother to do?"
Morgan gritted his teeth, "I dunno Amy, maybe to just open the door?"
"That would be rude," she told him, pinching together her lips, "you must always knock before you enter. That's what mummy taught us,"
"You know what Morgan?" Nelson rhetorically asked, "you're right, not worth standing around."
He had reached the door handle, he could feel the disappointment in Amy's face as he hadn't made another attempt to get a response before pressing down on the handle and creaking the door ajar.
From the slither of a gap in the door, the bed was easily seen.
But there was no one in the bed. It appeared untouched. If she had been in bed, why would she get out and make it again when she clearly wanted to go to sleep for the evening?
Uncertain, they knock and open the bathroom door, again, no sign of her. Strange.
