Nelson couldn't bear to look at it anymore.
Whatever that thing was on the ground, it wasn't his brother anymore. Maybe if he didn't pay it any attention, he would be able to pretend that it hadn't happened.
Without explanation, he took Amy by the arm, dragging her away.
"We can't just leave him!" Amy bawled.
"He's gone Amy!" Nelson snapped bitterly.
Trying to get themselves out from the deep, the pair found themselves in the midst of an earthquake. Morgan had their hand out to help lift Amy so when the quake started, they lost their footing and also ended in the hole.
Thinking it best to wait until it was over, the three of them huddled together.
Unaware of what was going on around them...
The walls were crumbling from all around. The rest of the wooden staircase came undone and pelted them. The floor above them shattered. They were crushed and compressed by rubble, as they died, their hearts were struck with layers of brick and concrete. It wasn't instant though. They were alive as their organs burst open under the weight of the fallen building.
