It was nearly 3 in the morning when all of us decided to leave the bar. I thought it was impossible for Levi to be that easily wasted since he owned a bar—but however, that actually twisted up my expectations. Levi and Margott were the first ones to drive away while Daniel decided to stay for a couple of minutes in the bathroom before he passed out and left us with no choice but to drive him to his apartment with his own car.
It was quite a night.
What I notice from Cole is that, he didn't turn out to be just a friend to them. He was like a brother, a colleague, and someone special you would like to keep for the rest of your lives.
There are no transportation vehicles at this hour so Cole decided to borrow Daniel's car in order for us to go back to Cole's flat. It will take us a little while before getting there since it's kinda far from where Daniel actually live.
"You hungry?" Cole's hair is little longer now, it move with the wind while he glanced at me. The air's coming in has been cold but not the one that can chill your bones out. The light are dim, Cole's features were sharp as we passed every streetlights, the silence of this hour, everything, the momentum is just...perfect.
And I admit, I feel most alive in times like this.
"I could take a bite." My pulse are making it's own pace, my heart's been excited. I feel giddy all of a sudden. And I'm sure it's not because of the alcohol.
Maybe.
Cole took a turn in the drive thru. I'm glad we saw a 24-hour fast food chain around the corner. Once we got the order, he pulled us over near the river. We both leaned on the other side of the car while watching the dark skies above us. Hearing the wrappers we're holding, the water flowing, everything felt really peaceful.
I took a bite of my burger. It tastes damn good. I've never tasted anything like this before! I wonder what it is. I took another bite and it tastes surreal. I must have made some weird noise because I can feel Cole's shoulder tensed a little. I didn't moan, did I?
Didn't I????!
Because if I did, that would be totally embarrassing! Please tell me I didn't made weird noises.
I look at him. He didn't look like he noticed or anything. I think he's just so lost in the skies and also probably thinking the burger is good. But I wish he didn't hear it or else I'll be force to jump into that river.
Everytime I look at him, all I can think is how perfect would his face be in a photograph. He's so gorgeous to the point I'd feel insulted if he would think otherwise.
He turn his gaze at me. My breath was instantly caught by that simple action. "Sorry for making it late for you. You should be resting by now...for tomorrow."
I wonder if that's the reason why his eyes were lost in the dark skies. Is he worried about my departure? Though I don't want to think he's just sad about my departure for tomorrow, somehow a part of me hopes he do.
"Nah, don't worry about it." I sip on my drink. "I'll be fine. I wouldn't exchange this for a rest anyway."
He chuckled. "Hmm, something's telling me the alcohol got in."
I gave him a scowl. "Hey, I'm not drunk!" I didn't plan for my lips to pout but it did. "I only had 3 bottles while you, you almost had, what, 8?" I covered my mouth, shocked. "Oh my God..."
To my surprise, he laughed out loud! "No, it's not. And even if it reached 10, I'm sure I can manage just fine."
"I totally can't believe it!" It feels like I'm having my mind blown by this fact. I can only make it up to 5 and I'd be wasted—but this guy! "Should I be scared now? Wait, should I be on the wheel now?"
