I'm messed up.

It was already past 11 when I woke up. Cole didn't even bother to wake me up dammit! When I woke up, I quickly brush my teeth, my hair and put on my brassiere. I went downstairs and already found a lot of workers busy with all the preparations for tonight. There were a lot of maids, a catering group, and some decorators in the garden. I would have come back to bed if Hadleigh didn't see me and dragged me to the dining room.

My legs tremble a little with the sight of the whole family eating together at the table. I want to punch myself for not changing these shorts and oversized t-shirt Cole has given me last night.

"G-good morning." I awkwardly said when Hadleigh offered me a seat next to her and everyone was looking at me like they wanted to know everything about my dreams last night.

"Good morning, dear. I'm glad you're awake. I've been waiting for you!" Olivia chirped beside Nanna Ava.

"Good morning." Agatha, Nanna and Jefferson also greeted me.

"Good noon! Are we already late—My God! Jess, you're finally awake!" Astrid came inside the room with flowers, and Cole behind her. They probably ran some errands.

"Yes." My ears burn. "I'm sorry, it's really embarrassing."

"Don't be embarrassed, Astrid even woke up around 2 in the afternoon." Agatha butt in.

Astrid gave her a scowl and proceed to the kitchen. Cole put the two buckets of flowers in the corner and washed his hands in the kitchen too.

I just smiled and Nanna smiled at me too. "You're probably hungry so eat up. You're just in time."

Astrid and Cole later on came back and Cole found his seat next to me with Astrid on the other end of the table.

"You and Nico were gone when the movie finished. You must be really tired. Did you sleep well last night, Jess?"

I almost choked to death with the sausages in my mouth when Nanna directly asked. I can feel all of their eyes on me. "Y-yes, Nanna. It's a very good sleep."

The best of all Jess, wasn't it?

I can see Cole from beside me suppressing his laughter while acting calm. "Indeed." He whispered.

"You two sneak out, didn't you?" Astrid said like she said nothing. She look at Cole. "Where did you two went last night?"

"Of course they did. We did it in the past too." Agatha said, winking to Jefferson.

Oh no. I'm just glad the kids are also talking about something on the other side.

Cole raised Astrid an eyebrow. "Is third wheeling your hobby?"

"You—" Astrid stopped midway. "Loser. Can't even finish a movie?"

Cole calmly drink his soup. "Stalker?"

They sound like kids! Aren't they embarrassed of talking things like this while eating?

I'm glad Astrid didn't say anything back anymore because it would have been really bad fighting over the table while eating. Plus, they're already adults.

"Oh, so that's why I haven't seen Jess after the movie." Olivia said after talking to Viviana. Just when I thought everything's finished. "Sneaking out, huh?"

"Sneak out? What's that?" Matt asked with innocence in his face.

My neck is starting to heat up like a kettle. I just awkwardly smile at Matt. "It's..."

"Ask mommy." Cole said to Matt.

This guy!

I secretly put my hand on his waist and pinch it in which why he twisted a bit.
