I slurped the remaining amount of my frapuccino Astrid had given me later this morning.
There are moments when all you wanted is to get drown in your coffee or just simply choke yourself to die.
Yup. Welcome to the moment.
After realizing how shit Astrid got me on the floor, me, like a teenage girl getting kicked from their own house, Astrid just shrieked on what she heard from my mouth and forced me to tell a story.
But I said nothing.
My face is somewhat found guilty for blushing but i'm not guilty.
I'm. Not. Guilty.
"So...what's with you two today?" Cole drank his milktea after exchanging looks with me and Astrid for a couple of times, and merely shook his head after. "PMS, huh?"
Astrid groaned so loud that people around the place shifted their gaze toward us.
I just simply shrugged my shoulders like I'm innocent—which is, I am, and played my fingers with my cup. Later this morning, after I avoid Astrid choking me about on what I said, I hurriedly ran to the bathroom and threw multiple of curses while banging my head on the wall in process.
After showering and still not having a straight conversation with Astrid, she went out my room after she threatened me to tell Cole about what she heard earlier if I won't go with them to have a coffee—which is really obvious that she got it all planned out with one goal.
I went with her, not to show her I'm guilty, but, I'm hungry. I know she'll get what she's insisting but I'm just tired and embarass of myself to spill it just now.
"Nothing's wrong actually. The coffee's really good." She wriggled her eyebrows and shot me that 'let's see now Jess' look. "Cole, how's your date last night?" Cole raised his eyebrow and sipped his tea, "You're both full of secrets now huh?" She rolled her eyes at his brother and sagged in her chair, defeated. "But so you know Cole," She leaned in again.
Keep yourself prepared Jess.
"What?" He asked, smirking. Even in that simple shirt, he looked dashing.
Stupid mind!
"I know that you and Jess," she looked at me, "Under that moon, you both—"
"Okay! The coffee is really good As! I really like this. This is one of my fave you know?" My words came out instantly and my eyes made contact with Astrid saying 'don't you dare tell him or else'. "So yeah, me and Astrid," I stood up, Astrid's raising her eyebrow at me. "Will just go to the bathroom for a while Cole." I shortly smiled in his confused face that he just simply nod.
"Trust me, you're not going to like what you'll be hearing—""Oh I bet it's amazing Cole. Jessie just—"
"Wants to go to the bathroom right now." I hurriedly grab Astrid's wrist and drag her away for no further embarassment.
"You're both crazy and...weird today." I heard him say before we disappeared to go inside the bathroom.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?" I muffled under my breath to stopped myself from screaming.
"What?" Oh now she's giving me that bored thing. Both tone and look. "I was just gonna ask Cole if he had kissed a girl before—oh nevermind, I knew and saw him multiple times before anyway. But, that never came out my mouth earlier." She checks her nails like 'this game is easy and i'm gonna win it without gambling a piece of my chip'. "Actually, what I'm really planning to say is," she paused and boy did my heart played the 'Welcome To The Black Parade' intro. "What does my brother taste like, Jess?" Her eyes shot mine.
That instant, my cheeks burnt and I can't maintain a straight look as my dreams came flashing in my head again—shit.
"Figures. Something really happened yesterday without me." She grinned so wide that her face will get torn if she won't stop any minute now. "C'mon! You don't have to keep it from me!—"
"Nothing happened! Believe me!" This time, i'm holding both of her shoulders. "I swear As, he just took me somewhere last night—"
"That's heaven—"
I groaned and shake my head to erase the images of "heaven" in Astrid's world. "I'm telling you the place is amazing, but Cole and I," I paused, hesistating a bit if I'll tell her about my dream.
"What? Do you want me to push it more or not?" She impatiently squealed. Even her eyes are full of excitement and curiosity that it's blinding me with the shine in it.
"We didn't kissed." I nod as her eyes fell out of glow every passing second. "We never do that As. Cole is like a...brother to me."
A brother to me.
A brother to me.
A brother to me."...so yeah." I smiled tightly. "I guess everything's good now." I was about to leave when she stopped me.
"In this world today Jess, even if they fell in love with their own brother, they would still fuck, so don't tell me that excuse." Oh. Everybody really had that bitch attitude after all. "So...what do you mean lately this morning? That Cole didn't kissed you?" Her voice came out so low again that i'm thinking she's disappointed the kiss didn't even happened.
And you're not?
I laughed, "Oh my God As, what's with that face?"
No Jess, what's with your face? Are you even sure you're not disappointed at all?
"This morning, everything's just a dream? Are you saying Cole kissing you is just a dream?" Damn she's good. "Aren't you dissapointed at all?"
Frantic. Shock. In. The. Heart.
"W-why would I be disappointed? Geez, that thing is really impossible As." I head out first. "Besides, most dreams never come true." I chuckled in that phrase.
I heard she went out also. I heard some few 'tsk' but I never heard her cursed more. "Cole is a lame game." She shook her head, disappointed.
"Don't put it that way As." I rolled my eyes, "Your brother is a cool brother and a good listener. In fact, Cole is—"
"Having a catch already?" Astrid's voice came higher than the usual as she marched towards Cole.
Cole, on the other side, didn't heard Astrid's warning sign and continue talking to a lady whose hair color is very similar to mine. Even here from where I stand, I'm hearing Astrid's earful words that will dawn Cole more than a second now.
I approached our table and stopped immediately. Shock is the first thing that has drawn in my face as the lady switched her direction to me.
"M-mom?!"
