THIS IS AWKWARD.
I sighed for the last time. I'm having doubts on whether to just walk away now and leave that sight or try my hardest to form the words I really want to say before my system will betray me.
I searched for his eyes. He got that face where he's starting to question my existence. Clueless, soft and warm eyes. My sight fell down to his shoulders, water dripping from his hair. And slowly,...slowly it fell down to his...
Focus Jess! Focus!
"Jess?" He started, staring at my face, and probably seeing my eyebags aside from my luggage with me. "Do you want to come inside?—"
"No." My response shocked the both of us. To what thoughts appeared inside our minds, I don't want to know. "I just came here to tell you something." I sighed once again. This time, I'm shaking.
His face kinda says "okay" but I also sensed he's a little nervous.
But not as nervous as I am
"I...uhm..." You got this girl. Ask him now what's between you two so you can move already. Ask him now and leave. I stared at his eyes for a little longer.
What are we Cole? What are you doing to me Cole?
I can't do it. I'm too emotional right now. I turned my back instantly, pick my luggage up and headed to the elevator. Maybe if I tried running away from him he'd chase me and that way I would know if he had feelings for me.
What a brilliant idea Jess! You went here to chase Cole and now you want him to chase you!
As I started walking away, I get to see Cole's confused face. I even heard him call my name. I didn't heard any footsteps behind me and that kinda hurts. I clicked the elevator open and it even took its time! Godammit!
I went inside. My heart's beating too damn fast, I can't even breath properly. The doorway starts closing slowly and...
"Jess!" I saw him running towards my direction, only with a pair of jeans. He made it on time before it finally shuts. He looked into my eyes and smiled at me. His scent engulfed the whole room. My heart doubled its pace.
"Cole...why did you..."
I never got to finish what I'm about to say because he starts to cupped my face and went closer to me. He smells like mint. God, I'm going crazy.
He moved closer, and closer, slowly until—
"Jess? You okay?" My eyes snapped open. That scent... it's all over me. "Are you okay?"
My body felt really tired. I looked around and saw I'm leaning over his shoulders. My system immediately flashed alert signs and I tore myself away from him that instant.
Dude, what the fuck happened back there? I'm at the elevator, right? I mean...I'm—I'm just dreaming???? That Cole chased me? That Cole cupped my face and...
Oh my God.
I touch my temple. My head hurts too. "What...happened? How did I end up here? Well, I did knock for about six times but,..." I feel like I'm about to collapse if I tried standing. And I'm really hungry too. I can't just ignore that fact.
He looked at me. Worry etched his face. "I can't believe you're here Jess. I thought Astrid came back to summon me." He chuckled.
"What happened to me Cole?" I repeat myself, suddenly feeling dizzy.
"Jess, can you first please sit down?"
I must have been really hungry because I started snapping. "What happened to me Cole? Can we just start talking now so I can leave?" That shocked him a bit but didn't say anything.
