Zuko is by himself, riding his stolen ostrich horse through a fairly barren landscape. After riding for a bit, they arrive at a decrepit bridge over a ravine that breaks as they cross. After regaining control over the ostrich horse, they continue crossing.
A little while later, Zuko smells food and spots a steak being cooked by a couple below the ridge he is walking on. He holds his stomach in hunger, and reaches for his dual dao swords, preparing himself to steal from them. However, after noticing that the woman is pregnant, he stops himself and continues on his way.
Riding through grasslands covered in large broken Earth Kingdom rocks, Zuko holds his water pouch to his lips for a drink, only to finish it off thirstily. Exhausted from his travels, his sight becoming blurry and his eyes closing slowly as he struggles to maintain consciousness. He shakes himself awake, he sees a figure in the distance leaning against one of the broken Earth Kingdom rocks, with a big creature lying beside them.
Zuko rides up to them on the Ostrich horse and jumps off of it. Now that he is closer to the figure he can make them out to be a woman who looks to be in their late 40's early 50's. She's wearing a clock that covers her head and falls over her shoulders.
Before Zuko could ask if they were ok, "Hey nephew", Zuko has a shocked look on his face. "A-aunt Tera?!". Tera gives him a small smile. And as she stands up the clock falls from her shoulders and Zuko sees that she is wearing bandage wraps round her chest as well as brown woran pants that end mid cath, with a red scarf that the colour has worn out of it. She also has strange red markings tattooed on her body; Zuko can see most of them because of the bandages around her chest. The tattoo goes over her left eye in a lightning bolt pattern that goes over her head and down her back, wraps round her waist and up the left side of her chest and makes a circle on the top of her shoulder.
"How? Father said you were killed by Earth Kingdom Raiders?!" he questions her after he snaps out of his shock. She avoids the question, "It seems to me that you need a bit of help," She looks at the Octritch horse. "Here, you take Lion with you on your journey, he will help." She gestures to The great beast behind her. Zuko was about to speak but Tera didn't let him.
"Don't worry, we will see each other soon.", with a smile she turns to the lion and grabs his rains, handing them to Zuko. "Go on now." Zuko takes the rains and gives her a big hug. "Thank you" he whispers in her ear, with genuine happiness in his voice. Tera turns to Lion with a look that says 'Protect him or else,' Lion nods. Zuko climbs on Lion's back and takes one last look at his aunt.
"You know... Uncle's in the Earth Kingdom as well.. Maybe you can find him?". Tera nods. And with that Tera directs Zuko towards the Village, "That way to the nearest village." Zuk was about to ride off then he decided to ask "What were you doing here anyway Aunt Ter?". She replies with a sad smile. "Morning my husband" Zuko turns back, having turned away as he asked his question to only find his aunt missing. Shaking of some fear he heads off towards the village, all the way questioning what his aunt said. 'If Uncle isn't dead then who's her late husband?'.
