Chapter 27

A shorter chapter but I hope you enjoy!

"Promise me you'll call when you get home after your family reunion." Rosalie said to me from the drivers seat of her car. Nodding my head I smiled at how she was being. So sweet and caring but its still a bit hard to get used too. "Rose, can you pick me up from their house? I think their name is Black."

Seeing Rosalie go tense I wondered what I had said. "Hey if you can't come it's okay. Don't worry." I quickly said before placing my hand in her free hand as she drove me home. "It's just I don't go in that part of Forks. Not my cup of tea." Her voice, low and dismissive. Making me wonder why she doesn't go near the Indian Reservation. Seeing her still tense and slightly rigid I figured I wouldn't press on the matter until later on.  Keeping my eyes on the blonde that sat next to me I smiled unknowingly. "What?" She asked with her brows raised making my heart flutter even more. "Nothing." I said trying to conceal my smile. "You're staring darling." Rosalie said in an amused tone causing me to giggle.

"Yes, so what? I can't stare at you?"

Rosalie had slowed down a bit since my house was coming into view. Finally the car had come to a full stop, so she turned to me and with such soft tone she spoke, "You Ms.Forbes are something entirely different." The air went from amusing and light to serious and heart fluttering. No one has ever said that to me before. Not even Delilah. Gulping down I stared right back at her completely speechless. "Rosalie." I breathed out not sure what to say.

"You don't need to say anything darling." her words ringing in my ears. I could stay in this moment forever.

"Eden! Hurry up we need to leave." My mother, Eleanor knocked quite vigorously on the the window. Mumbling a sorry to Rosalie before heading out, I gave my mom a pleading look to act nice. "Rosalie. Thank you for taking my daughter. You may leave now." Her words seemed strained a forced. TO which Rosalie gave a tight smile and a slow nod before driving off. "Could you be nicer please?"  I asked as I made my way to the Porsche that was parked behind my G-Wagon. "I was nice Eden." The same strained tone. Giving up I sighed as I sat in my sear slightly sulking at how the moment had played out. Trying to keep my mind busy I decided to text Perla.

Eddie: where were you today?

Perla<3: I had to go with kate to pick up her sister from the airport

Eddie:oh okay. I miss you

Perla<3: I miss you too Eddie

Eddie: My moms here. We're meeting meeting some family

Perla<3: sounds fun bestie

Eddie: stfu come save me

After shortly waiting for Perla to reply, I had noticed she left me on read. So I decided I would talk to her tonight hopefully to see why she's being to weird. "You didn't tell me Billy and Jacob came by." My mother voice emerged as we drove silently towards the other side of Forks. "You never told me we had family here." I barked back not wanting to deal with her degrading nag. "Watch your tone with me young lady."

Scoffing at her pathetic attempt to seem like a parent I ignored her until we finally arrived at this little red shack like house. Taking a sharp deep breath in I braced myself. "Eden! So it's great to see you again!" Looking to my left I see the Jacob making his way towards me and my mother. Greeting my mom with a hug, he pulled us towards the house.

My mother spoke first to the bunch that were gathered in the tight living room/kitchen. "It's so great to see you all and thank you for watching over Eden while I was away." Her tone was fake and so was her smile. The sincerity could be picked up by other people but not me. Standing behind my mother I stayed silent, dreading even being here. Leah was first to speak up after my mother had thanked them. "I'm glad you're home Talopat." A small smile evident on her face as she closed the gap between and my mother. They hugged for a moment before releasing one another. "Let's start the BBQ and bonfire!" Billy said as everyone scattered towards the door that seemed to lead to the backyard.
