Chapter 31Sitting with Rosalie at the lunch table, I felt more at ease. We didn't speak about Royce like I had wanted to but it's okay. It doesn't matter right now, we were okay and that's all that really matters. Even though I should probably be honest about these visions, I don't want to seem crazy. I'm already embarrassed by the whole Delilah fiasco.
Leaning towards Rosalie, I asked where Edward was and her usual scowl returned. "He's with Bella Swan." So formal I thought, though the mention of Bella, the new girl send shivers down my spine considering it all began with her. Nodding my head I smiled at the thought of Edward finally finding someone he actually likes. "At least he won't third wheel anymore." I whispered back into her ear, causing her to smile. Which gave me such a triumphant feeling. Making Rosalie smile and laugh, seeing her happy gave me the biggest burst of joy.
"Do you want to hang out after school? At my place?" She asked me, shifting slightly in her seat. Making me look at her look directly at her. Nodding my head I smiled at her before finally finishing my chocolate milk. Looking around the table, I had noticed their food had either not been touched or has been opened and fiddled with. Instantly taking me back to the what Jacob and Leah said about the cold ones. While my mom had been spending time with the tribe, I had the infamous Seth Clearwater telling me all these interesting things about the treaty and the cold ones. Leading me to do my own research, I've just been slightly preoccupied with trying to make sure Perla was okay.
Instantly bringing me into such a sour mood. The thought of my best friend should not have hurt this badly, weirdly Rosalie took notice immediately.
"What's wrong?" Her voice filled with so much concern, being face to face with her I had a flood of memory. Specifically the day I found out she was gone, the day I found out that Cullens hid this from me. Not being able to speak I shook my head and swallowed the large lump in my throat.
For the rest of the day, I have just been a ghost. I wasn't sure what to think or feel after all of this. I haven't really been over to their house since Perla left. Trying to shake the heavy thought of what had happened was harder than I thought. Seeing Rosalie waking towards me to gave me slight anxiety, she looked always perfect. Never skipping a beat.
"Let's go for a drive?" I asked her as she was only a few feet away from me. I could see she was trying with her lopsided smile. She was trying her best to be happy for me and somehow I just knew that this was her way of showing me. Smiling, checking in on me, being there at my every beckon. It's only been a day but I could see the significant change in her behavior.
"Where would you like to go Eden?" Her voice was raspy yet lovingly soft. Giving her a small smile I thought of the most cheesy thing to say. "Take me out for a coffee." Holding back my giggle I began to feel as ease with the presence of Rosalie. Smoothly she guided me to the parking lot with her arm at the small of my back. I must admit though she really did have a smug look on her face. Angela waved but I decided to go to her. So I detach myself from Rosalie and gestured for her to wait by the car. Surprisingly she seemed okay with it and headed, leaving me to head towards Angela.
"Hey there pretty!" I said before opening up my arms and giving her a much needed hug. "Is everything okay? I see you're super cozy with you know who." I pull away seeing her smiling like crazy causing me to blush hard. Nodding my head. "She's amazing so of course I'm being cozy with her. She's just misunderstood and judged too frequently." Fibers of my being just automatically coming to the defense for the girl I have come to really like.
"So, why are you making her wait?" She asked hugging herself, trying to keep warm. "I need a favor. I told my mom and my cousin I would be with you after school." Before I could even finish she already got the idea
