Perla and Ange got along nicely, Maggie and Perla did not. So the rest of the day I tried to keep Perla from making anymore enemies with the Cullens. Thankfully Maggie did not change any way towards me. Knowing I had to stay in school with Perla and Rosalie was a bit dreadful and worrying. So maybe if I walked fast enough with Perla trailing behind me we could skip the really awkward 1 hour and just all go home.Walking out with Maggie and Perla who I had to stand in-between or else they would get into a fight. Nervous struck me when I saw Rosalie walking a few feet in front of us. Feeling Perla nudge me I looked to her. "Go get your sexy girl." Getting a bit annoyed that she can fight with Rosalie but then call her sexy, did not sit well with me. Rolling my eyes and scoffing I shook my head and continued to walk out of the doors and down the stairs. So far no sign of Pickle. Speeding walking down the stairs I told Perla to meet me at my house.
"Eden Hadley, Rosalie Cullen and Perla Guzman. Please head back to the Principal's Office. Eden Hadley, Rosalie Cullen and Perla Guzman." The loudspeaker spoke, making everyone look at us. Crap.
Looking over at Rosalie, I saw her murmuring something to her siblings before they left. The honey dew blonde was already making her way to the building leaving me and Perla. "Dude, she's so into you. Go for it." My patience for Perla was growing thin with her delusion of Rosalie and I. "Perla, she's not into me. So forget it. Let's just get this over with." and with that I headed to Pickles office.
"I thought you would never come, where is California dumber?" Pickle said sitting up from his seat. "She has a name Rick." I sighed at his lack of professionalism and respect. "It's Perla, dude." The sassy blonde walked into the room looking at Pickle. "I don't care, go to the library and work on the project. I'll be there in an hour to make sure you did not burn down the school. Now get out." he grouched. We all walked out and made our way to the library in silence until Perla got a call. "Go ahead I'll catch up okay?" I looked back and nodded.
'She's going to get out of it." Rosalie muttered before walking into the library. "What did you say?" I asked with my annoyance growing more and more. "Nothing. Just work on the project." Not wanting to put up a fight I decided to grab a book and start doing research. Perla hasn't come back yet but I figured it was her boyfriend calling her so I let her be. Looking over at Rosalie I noticed she has such soft facial features. Her nose was perfect and symmetrical, her brows were clean, cheek bones were strong and defined, her mysteries gold eyes, and lastly her soft, plump pink lips. She sat so stiffly with a serious look. Her features would never fail to impress anyone.
Being brought out of my trance I heard her voice, "Can you stop staring at me?" Knowing I had been caught staring at her made my cheeks flush a dark red. Not wanting to risk embarrassing myself some more I refused to make eye contact and went back to my book. I wasn't sure what to say so I didn't say anything. "Are you not going to answer the question?" Rosalie questioned getting up to grab another book. "Well you caught me glancing." I lied. A moment of silence passed. Still refusing to look at her. I could hear her shuffling around the room. "A glance is quick, you were staring for quite some time. Why?" She questioned again. At this point I was praying to god Perla would walk through those damn doors to save me.
What was I supposed to say? 'Oh I was staring because you're so god damn beautiful and I'm a total creep for doing it?'
Panicking I averted the conversation to her about what Perla told me today. "Why were you glancing at me in history?" And with that the sound of books shuffling stopped and the silent came back. I turned around to see Rosalie, standing in front of a bookshelf. She stood so still it looked like she wasn't even breathing. "I was not glancing at you. I was admiring your dress. You know the one you accused me of talking crap about." I had every right to think she was talking crap about me.
"You said some hurtful things Rosalie. Of course I'm going to think you were talking crap about me. You haven't been all the nice to me and you always seem to be mad at me for something. Always. Hearing you commenting about Cameron giving me a compliment? It sure sounded like you were talking crap." I defended myself making sure she knew she wasn't such a nice person. But she just scoffed. "Fine, continue to be rude." Taking my phone out I texted Perla to hurry up and come back. Slightly pissed off I continued to take my notes and do my part. "Do you actually like Cameron?"Rosalie asked, taking a seat closer to mine at the table we were both at.
"What?" I was shocked at her sudden curiosity. "Do you like her?" She asked once more. "I don't know and it's none of your business." I was not going to talk chisme with her after she was being rude to me.
"She's bad news and you deserve better Eden. She's not worthy of you." Shocked at her statement, I looked up. Her once golden eyes were gone, showing a dark brown, almost black pair of eyes. Her tone was low and quiet but strong.
"She's been nice to me, nicer than you. And how would you know if she's worthy of me? Like I said Rosalie. It's not any of your business." I spoke. "It is my business Eden." the blonde growled lowly. Scoffing at her reply I got up and explored. "How is it your business Rosalie?" she leveled with me, eye to eye. Standing a foot away she stood there silently. Staring at me. "It just is." was all she said before grabbing a book. Luckily for me I was right there, fast enough to flick it out of her hand. "I want an answer. Why is it your business?" I asked again, this time assertively. "Because.. you're Alice and Maggie's friend. They're my siblings. I look out for my siblings." not really understanding the connection I told her I did not need anyone to look out for me and started to clean up the books on the table since it was almost time to leave.
Leaving the table to put some books back on the shelf I heard my phone ding but I let it be.
"Don't do that Rose." I exclaimed bumping into the blonde who had a few books in her hands. She asked if I was okay and I nodded but was caught off guard with her intense stare. Noticing we were only inches apart I held my breath. Afraid that if I did, something would happen.
We stood there, it felt like hours but it truly was only a couple of seconds until I saw Perla in the corner of my eye through the window. Making eye contact I saw her eyes widen and she disappeared. As if she dropped dead. Clearing my throat I took a step aside and walked away.
