"Where were you when we're leaving class?" Jessica asked sitting down to my left with Cameron to my right and Ang in front of me. Looking up I felt a hot gaze from the serious looking blonde that was seated directly in front of me a few tables away. "Oh I had to go to my locker so I left a little early ." I smiled while picking at the carrot sticks I got. "I saw you talking to the Cullens, what did they want?" Mike said plopping down beside Jessica with an annoyed look on his face. "Alice just wanted to know where I got my dress from." I said not looking at him. I truly did not like his attitude towards the Cullens."Speaking of that dress you look smoking hot. No, smoking beautiful." Cameron giggled leaning towards me. She was trying too hard but I appreciated the effort.
"Hey babe." I felt arms snake around me with a familiar strawberry and silk scent. The cafeteria fell silent and I knew exactly who it was. Feeling a soft pair of lips connect with my cheek I felt the rush of blood throw my face and couldn't hold in my smile knowing who was finally here.
"Hey" was all I could choke out before standing up and giving her a proper hug. Feeling her arms wrap around my lower back and shoulder I heard her whisper "I'm going to love it here." Trying to contain my excitement I bit my lip and asked Jessica to move down a seat. With her face of confusion the blind headed girl standing beside me spoke to the group. "It's okay she can sit on my lap."
Taking the joke I smacked her arm and gave her a genuine giggle. Angela pulled up a chair and made Cameron scoot over which I don't think she was very happy about. "I didn't know you had a girlfriend already." she said a bit hurt. And before I could answer the sweet girl next to me said "Girlfriend? Trust me I'm more than that." smirking I knew exactly what her game was. "Stop it beh" I said, feeling all the unwanted attention on me again.
"Looks like you caught the Cullens attention again." Mike said nodding towards them. "Cullens?"
"Those really pale looking gorgeous people." Angela spoke admiring them. It was super cute actually. "Come with me to get some fruit." I said standing up and grabbing her hand. "The Cullens look very interested in you Hadley." she spoke again whispering. "Thats Rosalie, the one who's always mad at me. She talked crap about my dress." I frowned looking down at my white ruffled dress that I truly loved to wear. "She talked crap?" Nodding my head I grabbed an apple and turned back seeing she was making her way to the Cullens table. Crap.
"What are you doing" I raced towards the girl who was on some suicide mission. "Don't worry." she said to me, taking my hand in hers. "Don't!" I panicked trying to pull her away.
"Hello Cullens. Eden here tells me Rosalie talked crapped about this wonderful dress she has on, the one that hugs her curves perfectly and shows just enough skin. The dress I'll take of later." Without another a second Rosalie stood up from her seat leaning towards the other side, where we stood. "Who are you?" The golden eyed beauty growled. "You need not worry about me Rosalie, I presume. Who are you talking shit about Eden?" Gently put both her hands on the table making heated eye contact with Rosalie.
"Why would Rosalie talk shit about Eden if she-" Maggie was cut off by Alice saying "She was admiring your dress. Me and her both taught that 'smoking hot' didn't do you justice. She wasn't talking crap about you Eden." Looking at Alice then at Rosalie who kept eye contact at the very protective blonde beside me. I chose to let it go. "It's fine. It's just a misunderstanding okay? Sorry to bother you guys. Thanks Alice, guys." I looked at all of them and tugged my very annoying, attention seeking but protective best friend away.
"Why would you do that? Are you crazy?" I whispered yelled at her as we sat back down at our table. "What? You said she was walking shit about you. Of course I'm going to beat her up. Besides, that girl-" pointing to Cameron, "Is right. You're beautiful. So if anyone has anything to say about it then can get a fist full of Perla." Laughing at her trying to curl her fist, I truly missed my best friend. For a while I thought I'd lose her too but she's too special. The rest of lunch we talked with everyone and I introduced her to everyone aside from Cameron who was not happy with me.
The cafeteria went silent again when Mr.Pickle came straight to our table and escorted me and Perla to his office to give her the schedule she'll have during this semester. Most people whispered and watched as if we were getting arrested like we had committed a crime. If only they knew.
"Look, I'll give you the same schedule but don't mess around alright? I'm a busy guy." He printed an identical schedule as mine and let us go to class. Lunch was almost over so we decided to go find seats. It felt so nice having someone who really knew me. We talked about things I also had knowledge of and it didn't make me feel like an outsider as much. A little piece of home in a way.
"Okay so did you know that Lauren left Lucy?" Completely shocked I gasped and giggled. "Your jo-"
"Excuse me you're in my seat." Rosalie said behind me. I totally forgot it was her seat and looked back at her. Perla did not like Rosalie and vise versa. "It doesn't have your name on it." Perla said with sass. Not wanting to make a bigger scene I just told Perla to pull up a chair and sit next to me on my right while Rosalie kept her seat on the left.
After being introduced to the class we started getting to work in the text book for a group project.
"Babe are you actually going to do this?" Perla asked me taking her phone out. "Yeah B, I have too. It's for a grade dummy." I laughed at her laziness. Looking over at Rosalie, she was sad, quiet, and did not spare me a glance. Feeling sad that she was giving me the silent treatment I tried to focus on my work instead. Feeling my phone vibrate I looked down to see Perla texting me.
'Rosalie is into you' scoffing at the idea I looked at her and shook my head no.
'She keeps sneaking glances at you. Ever since I got to the lunch room' Shaking my head no again I tried to not think about Rosalie looking at me. Why would someone who's beautiful want to keep looking at me? I'm ugly. Besides Rosalies made it clear she is not my friend.
My phone got another text but Rosalie turned to me before I could check. "If YOU won't do the work I'LL do it. You made Alice do your project so I'll just do this alone. Since neither if you will'' she said harshly. This did not go well with Perla. "Hold up, why are you being rude to her again? Just leave her alone and do your part. We'll do ours so fucking chill." Perla was a potty mouth and did not care who she was cussing out. The bickering continued until Principle Pickle came in to defuse the situation.
"Ladies! Since you guys won't stop bickering Rosalie you'll be their new school guide. And you two, California dumb and California Dumber will spend after school together working on this project. Maybe spending some time together will make you guys friends." before I could argue Pickle gave me a smirk and walked out.
"Thanks a lot." Rosalie said slumping in her seat. "I'm sorry Rose." I said truly upset I got them in trouble. She did not reply to me. Perla is a hot head so she left to go to the bathroom to 'cool off' aka smoke her problems away. After class was over I walked to math with Perla by my side. Hopefully she'll get along with Angela.
