A Letter From an Enemy that Loves You

...in case anyone hasn't noticed
I try to give off an image of happiness, piety and perfection
Even though that's not the 100% real me
But because I'm muslim, that's who I wanna be

So just because I sin differently than you, my friend
And I don't give you a chance to see the bad that I do, my friend
You let jealousy in your heart and put our friendship to an end
All that's left is my broken heart to mend

You think I have it all
Connections and popularity
You think I’m just smiles and all
But my smile is for charity
Whenever I do good
You doubt my sincerity
And whenever I fail
You laugh hysterically

Count your own blessings
Please don't count mine
Unless you can be truly happy for me
Then hey... that's fine
But if counting my blessings lead to your jealousy
And that jealousy leads to enmity
Then please ignore them, cause I don't want you to leave
Because when you were in my life,

You actually made it more sweet
