Mia Duncan's POV

"Leo, I'm home. Are you feeling lonely, honey?" I said as I opened up the door to my apartment. Leo came to my feet as he was meowing for his food.

"Just a sec, honey," I said before I put all my stuff onto the dining table. I went to the kitchen to find a can of wet tuna for Leo. I opened it up and put it down for him. He was meowing happily before indulging in his meal.

"Are you a good boy when mummy was gone?" I said as I patted him on his back. I smiled before I went to get my stuff from the table and went to the bedroom, into my walking closet. I punched in my password and another set of wardrobes appeared.

I put my wigs and dress and heels in their place. I closed the wardrobe and hopped into the shower. It felt good to get rid of the smells of human sins. I got off and dried my hair before wearing a robe and went to get some food from the kitchen.

Renee cooked some pasta that was left in the microwave and I microwaved it. After 2 minutes, I took it out and went into the living room, and switched on the television. The event of crime scene was coming up. Detective Liam Hunt was giving some comments about the accident.

"We are unfortunately not able to tell what was the motive of the killer but we know that we will catch him by the end of the week. I can assure the citizen of Edinburgh we are not in danger, thank you," he said before leaving the crime scene with his partner.

I smirked at the television. "Look, Leo, he thinks he can catch the murderer," I said as Leo was snuggling on my lap and I caressed his head. He meowed at me before he went into the bedroom. "And he thinks that it was a man. Typical," I said as I was eating my dinner.

"Catch me if you can, Hunt, 'cause you will never be one step ahead of me," I said as I was smirking at the television like Liam Hunt was in front of me.

The silence of my house was broken by the rings of my phone. I stood up from the television and took the phone from my backpack. The number on the phone screen was unknown. I was hesitant at first until I have enough courage to answer it. And guess what? I did.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Well, it looks like your touch has not gone yet, Duncan," a raspy, low voice was coming from the phone.

"What can I say, I only delivered the best, " I said, as I did recognize the voice well, at least, it was my client's voice.

"Very good, Duncan. Keep up the good work and maybe your expertise in this field will expand. Have a good day, Ms. Duncan," they said.

"And you too, as well," I said before I ended the call. I put the phone down to charge it and went back to the living room to close the television. I went into the kitchen to wash my plate and went to brush my teeth and floss. I went into my walk-in wardrobe and put on some pajamas before I went into bed and dreamed off to my dark wonderland, with Leo at my feet to warm me up.

I was in the darkroom that only has lights on me. I was looking around and no one was there. I walked to get out of there but I only realized that I was just going around in a circle.

Where am I?

What was happening?

All the unimaginable thoughts were coming into my head like a machine gun. I was so scared that I can only scream but nothing was coming out of my mouth. I thought I was going to die but there was some light at the end of the darkness.

I walked toward the light and I just realized that I was running toward it. I stretched out my hands to get it but it kept slipping away. I was desperate now to catch it as I was walking into the light but then it was gone.
