Mia Duncan's POV
"Breath, Mia, breathe," I whispered to myself as I was holding the machete as I was standing behind the door. I was waiting for Detective Harsh to come in as I will attack him from behind.
"Eduardo, are you in there?" Liam said as he came into the garage.
"Eduardo?" He asked again. Silence was filling the room as he stepped inside the garage. He looked around as he saw I was not on the chair.
"Shit," he said before walking toward the handcuffs that used to tie me up.
"Eduardo, wake up, man. Eduardo!" He said as he looked around. I lurked in the shadow as I want to surprise him with my attack. He looked back at the unconscious man on the floor before I went to attack him on the back with a machete.
"Ah!" I screamed as I was jumping on him. He was surprised at my sudden attack but recovered to dodge the attack. He blocked my swings as we looked into each other's eyes.
"You need to work on your skill," he whispered as he was smirking.
"I don't need to," I said before I let go of the machete and slid down my legs to get him unbalanced. He jumped before I could kick him and he pushed me to the ground Liam threw the machete far away from us.
"Looks like you do need some practice," he said, chuckling.
"Not with you," I said as I was kicking him again. He dodged it as he got up from me as I also backflipped to be stable on my feet. I was on the battle stand as Liam casually looked at me with his lazy eyes.
"Impressive. Not everyone can escape from the handcuffs. You must have very good skill at picking locks," he said as he walked around me.
"I learned from the best," I said as turned as well, mimicking his movement.
"Hmm," he said as he was expecting something before he threw some daggers at me. I dodged it even though they were very difficult to get through. Some went through my hair and it cut a piece of them.
"Hey!" I exclaimed at him before the dagger went to touch my cheek. "Ow!" I said as I touched my cheek and it was running red.
"Now, looks who's whining," he mocked me as I can feel my anger boiling in my blood.
"Why, you son of a bitch," I said as I went to get to him. I ran at him as I punched and kicked him. He blocked all my punches as we were dancing on the dance floor except we were trying to kill each other.
"Look at us, dancing with our kicks," he said as I gritted my teeth.
"We'll see about that," I said as I jumped on his shoulder and I locked my feet around his neck before I squeezed him to lock on his air supply. Unfortunately, he knew how to break it as he went to break my ankle as I feel pain around my foot.
I screamed at the pain before releasing my grip from his neck. I landed on the floor on my arms and before I tried to get up to fight him, he held me still by locking my hands on top of my head and putting his knee between my feet so that I cannot move.
"Let me go," I said as I struggled to get out of his grip.
"No," he simply said.
"Why you," I said before he put a machete around my neck. I instantly quieted down at the contact of the cold metal on my neck. I was breathing heavily as bad memories came to my mind about my past.
"You shut up and listen well. I will look past the fact that you are the reason that my father was killed but I don't know what he was killed for. I want to find out the truth and I need your help," Liam said as he looked me in the eyes. He was not bluffing. I looked at him before opening my mouth to answer him.
