Liam Hunt's POV

No, no, no. It can't be. It was all lies.

My father's death was an accident, a death that was never planned until I heard the story. I can't believe that my father was assassinated by a young girl. She was probably 20 years old back then as my father only passed away 4 years now.

After I heard the news, I was dead inside when I was in college. I had forgiven God to take my father away but hearing the other side of the story, made me think again about the past.

I was walking out of the garage that was located outside of the main house. I was frustrated, angry, and mostly sorrowful. I did not want to remember the ugly memory of my father's death. Even after 4 years, I was still deeply attached to him even though he was gone now. I went inside the kitchen from the back door and Eduardo's mama was putting some breakfast on the table.

"Mijo, come let's eat," she said as she pulled me toward the table. I mumbled a thank you before taking a seat at the table. She put down the bacon before taking a seat as well.

"Let us pray," she said before we joined our hands together.

"Dear Lord, thank you for the food that you gave us, and thank you for another day of a healthy life, Amen," she said. We mumbled amen as well before taking some of the breakfast onto our plates.

"So, how was the party?" She asked before I coughed. She immediately gave me a glass of water and patted her hand on my back.

"What?" I asked after my coughing has died down.

"Last night, Eduardo said you guys were having fun. I heard that you even get to dance with a girl, mijo," I smiled as I looked at Eduardo with an 'I'm-going-to-kill-you' look.

"It was fantastic, I have a lot of fun," I lied as I don't want her to think otherwise because there was a woman in her garage right now as we all spoke.

"Good for you, mijo. Unlike Eduardo, he just going to run away from all the women that he knows," she said as she patted his head for taking too much bacon. She said to leave some for me as I was too thin like I don't have enough food to eat.

After a while, we finished eating but I needed to sneak some for Mia. Even though she was a criminal and a murderer, I cannot let her human rights be ignored.

"Mama, can I ask you something?" I asked Eduardo's mama as I was helping her to dry out the plates.

"Sure, mijo. What is it that you want to ask?" She said as she was handing me the plate. I already told Eduardo to get some food for Mia and went back to the garage for her to eat but do not release her from the cuffs. He understood as he went to give her some food.

"What if you already know something your whole life but suddenly one day, a new plot of the story was discovered? How do you deal with it?" I said. She chuckled at me like I was a crazy person or something.

"For instance, if your cat died like, I don't know, get hit by a car but it turned out that your neighbor doesn't like your cat and he shot him, how would you react to that?" I said before she put the last plate to me. She sighed.

"Mijo, everything that was planned in this world was for a reason. We may not know the reason for the cause of it, but we might meet something along the way. You need to look deep inside at why God made it that way," she said before patting me on the cheeks. I suddenly felt at ease.

"Thank you, mama," I said as I held her hands.

"Anytime, mijo. Now, where is that Eduardo? He always went missing in action if I need him right now," she said as she was looking for him. I laughed before I excused myself. I went out of the back door of the kitchen to the garage.

I needed to look past Mia's past and look forward to the future that held together with our fates. I don't trust that much in destiny but if she was in that fate, I was willing to give it a try.

Mia Duncan's POV

After I told the story, Liam went out with all the frustration, anger, and sorrow. I can see it all on his face as he looked at me one last time. My heartfelt sorry to him for the mistake of my past. I cannot escape them as I cannot turn back time and fix it so I don't kill his father. I was angry for being so stupid but I was angry at the organization that I was working for.

They used me when I was innocent by being a killer, a murderer. I was so sad that he only saw me like that. I need to get out of here before I cannot forget about him if I will be kept in this place. I needed to get out.

Now!

I looked at my hands and legs, they were tied up and I cannot use them unless I get out of the chain first. I needed to find something that can unlock it. I tried to move my hand closer to my head to get the bobby pin in them.

I stretched out my hand as it will be difficult for me to reach out for my bobby pin. I can already feel that my hand will be leaving a bruise after I got off here.

"Damn it, Hunt. You got to make my life difficult," I sighed as I reached out to get my hair. I can feel my hair under my fingertips as I reached out to get the bobby pin.

"Come on, Duncan. You can do this," I whispered as I tried so hard to get it out.

"Argh!" I screamed as I can get my bobby pin. I sighed as I got the bobby pin from my hair. I looked up to look at my wrist. It was bleeding. With no time to spare, I unlocked the pin as I wanted to get out of the garage.

I successfully took it out as I went to unlock the others. I was in the last handcuffs when I can hear someone coming in. I pretended to be in the position of being locked up. I don't want to make them aware that I am out. Thankfully, it was not Liam.

"And here I think he will let me do the important stuff," a guy was mumbling as he put some breakfast on the table.

"And he said don't let her out of the cuffs. How was supposed she is going to eat all the food?" He said before looking at me. I was wearing my short dress and he was shaking his head.

"I'm sorry, señorita, but Hunt can be a pain in the ass," he said as he tried to unlock the handcuffs.

"What the—" He said as he finally realized that I had unlocked it. I kicked him where the sun did not shine before he stumbled to the ground. I tried to get him out of the way as he was holding me to my feet.

"Sorry," I said before I twisted his neck to make him fall asleep.

"Don't...go..." he said before sleep took over him. I needed to find a way out of here. I looked through the window and that Hunt was talking to an old woman. He was so serious in that conversation before he lightened up. I smiled when he smiled before he moved out of the kitchen and headed toward the garage.

"Jesus!" I said before looking for my option to get out. I don't know if it will be very convenient for me to get out of the garage without getting detected by Liam Hunt. He has a sense of this kind of thing.

I needed to make a plan that will look like it was foolproof. I went to the door that was located at the back as I want to get out to the forest behind it. No luck. It was locked. I tried to go through the window but it was so small that even I could not fit it. I was looking around, back and forth, before the footsteps getting closer and closer. I needed to think.

Fast.

"Think, Mia, think," I said as I looked at a small thing that was located in a corner. "Maybe that will be a better idea," I said as I took the machete to knock the detective dead, or maybe unconscious. I just have to get away from him as long as possible. I went to stand behind the door as the door was opening. I wished that I can get out as quickly as possible.
